2023 Ioniq 5 SEL AWD
Our Lexus buying experience in 2015 was very pleasant, but not nearly as easy as the Rivian or Teslas
However, after negotiating with a dealer, they tried to hide the fact that they were selling me a 2021 MY car and not my current (updated) 2022 MY car that I ended purchasing elsewhere. They wrote 2022 on every single paper and attempted to hold onto the monroney for as long as possible to get me to sign first. Will never even attempt to do business with them on any level.
How can ppl put trust into any of these establishments when they do sleezy crap like that?!!
Your situation would rub me the wrong way. I definitely couldn't entertain giving them any money after that. They lost a potential customer forever.

Once they get you back to the table, they will start to offer extras / warranties etc. at inflated prices.
Don't take anything from them.
Now that it's the end of the month, they are motivated to get this deal done to make quotas.
I always buy at end of month and quarter for just that reason.
I've walked out of dealer only to get called back the same day with the deal I wanted.
You do the same, not a penny more.
A family member bought one (not lease) at Keyes in Van Nuys in January. They were nice, no fuss, no run around. There was no ADM, only overpriced options.
I drove it and love it also.
Tempting to get the Ioniq 5 N

but i totally get why you and most everyone, including me, find the dealership lies, bait and switch, false claims, etc., totally vile.
LoL. So I emailed him back with the following:
"for me to come in, you have to let me know if the offer I made is acceptable. I have a certain budget, and I can't go beyond that. I'm also not interested in wasting your time, as well as mine, as I'm sure you have other customers you need to deal with. I'm also not interested in any up selling. BTW just talked to the wife as I was writing this, and she is off this Tuesday, so if you can assure me that we can do $2500 down and $340 a month, we have a deal"
I got a text message back saying they are working on it with their "manager", and then this email yesterday:
LOL again! Than the first sales guy (Rowell) texted me again this morning asking me if I was going to come in Today or Monday. I again made it clear that we are busy this weekend and my wife is only off on Tuesday and added the following:
"There should really be no reason this deal shouldn't be available, as I get monthly emails from Hyundai with similar offers. If for some reason it's gone by Tuesday, I have until November, I'm sure there will be similar offers between now and then.
Let me know if Tuesday works for you, and I'll confirm the time with you"
So here is where I am on a lease that should be straightforward and simple, yet is complicated by pure dealership greed. I'm waiting for his reply back to me. Either this Tuesday we will have a 2023 Ioniq 5 lease to replace our 2020 Ioniq EV, or we will be keeping the it until November and my wife going back to our Sienna. Had this been a Tesla or Polestar, or even a Rivian, the order would have been placed and it would just be a matter delivery dates.
Some people have asked me why I don't just go to another dealership. The reason is I already know I'll get the same runaround. I don't have the time or energy to deal with any other BS
If this deal doesn't go through, it's only Tesla's that will be in my driveway from this point on. I'm only going through this because I really love that Ioniq 5

There are a whole pile of lease deals in California for a used Tesla have you looked into them? I get it, you'll be dinged if you get out of your existing lease.
