With sales of the Mustang, Camaro etc. dwindling fast Ford probably decided to leverage the Mustang name on the new EV while it still had some brand recognition. The Mustang name sounds much better than Escape, Edge and Explorer on a new "sporty" vehicle.

I've test-driven and done a write-up on the Mach-E Mustang. IMO there is little or nothing "sporty" about it...except the nameplate. And, worse, it does not, IMHO, even have the build-quality or fit/finish of Chevy's electric Bolt EUV, which is roughly half the price.....although, to be honest, there is nothing "sporty" about the Bolt EUV, either.

We'll see how the new 2024 Mustang helps sales. I was considering waiting for a new 2024 Dark Horse instead of the IS500, but figured markup on them is probably going to be bad for a while.

Almost a real mustang. I don't' count non-GT Mustangs.
I get where you're coming from, but don't sell those turbo-4s on the base models short. While not as fast as a GT or Cobra, they will definitely get out of their own way.

Hey, a 4 cylinder turbo sounds like a big upgrade from the generic 4 cylinder for the base models back in the day.
Like a Mustang Lite. Lol

Have you actually driven a turbo-4 Mustang? I have.
Yeah and they are slow, very boring cars with poor interiors and since the 4 doesn't even have power or a good sound like the 8 it's really pointless IMO. The stick version is better and in that case it is fun but a stick makes nearly ANYTHING fun, however even so the real version of this car has 8 cylinders minimum.

Yes, the version I drove was a stick. And, though not as fast as the GT OR Cobra, it definitely got out of its own way.
Also keep in mind.........what is "slow" to you is fine for most drivers.
