I would stick with the I6 in one of these. Reviews say it actually feels better.

I would love the supercharged one and always like to get the top engine but it’s around $10k more and I don’t want to spend that much.
Thank you!

It was very cooperative due to the flat sides, I have a 6 inch 9mm throw buffer (I don't own a Rupes 21mm yet) and even with that it wasn't bad. Rounded cars are the hard ones and I really need to buy a mini buffer for them at this point since I still do round areas by hand.

It has actually been a crapload of polishing these last few days, my dad screwed up and drove his 4.0 A8 though a wash tunnel with a new rotor and messed the hell out of his paint! I'm talking like a metal rake down the side bad....had to do his entire car (he required it to match) and then he wanted the RR done too since the A8 looks so good now.....and tomorrow I have to do my friends new XJR!

You NEED to get the 5.0 if you get one, it's so worth it is not even funny. Cut other options if you must but it defines the car and is needed for it to feel right. Don't cheat yourself!

Yeah the 2019+ are better. But still myriad issues showing up.

Im talking about the new RR, with the BMW V8. All the reviews say the vehicle feels better with the 6.

Oh if we are talking the new one the 6 is the better more powerful engine anyway, throw a tune on for 200 more HP with no worries because B58 lol!

BMW V8s are horrible engines and should be avoided unless you enjoy massive issues that you can't maintain your way around experiencing.

I don’t believe the new RR uses the BMW B58 engine…

I did a search and found one article that said it uses the BMW B57 engine and others that said it was a Jaguar/LR Turbo inline 6 so who knows.

It seems pretty clear the supercharged engine is gone and they now use a N63 TTV8 from BMW but I wonder if they switched over to the S63 engine like BMW did for the M60 X7.

B57 is a diesel, so that would be unlikely. I have its predecessor, the N57, sitting in my driveway right now.

Well that’s definitely not right then, I have no clue what they are using. Maybe they are using a Jag/LR turbo 6. Would be nice if it was a B58.

the 6 cylinder engine in the new Range Rover is the inline 6 Ingenium P400. It has both an electrically-powered supercharger and a twin-scroll turbo It’s the same engine that’s in my Defender.

Yeah you guys are right, they didn't go with a BMW inline for some reason. That's very strange IMO since they used their 8 and all......guess that's a hard avoid then since the JLR ingenium engines are horrible for reliability.

One of the rare rare times the BMW engine is the smarter pick lol!

I wouldn't keep it, so I would still get the 6. None of my friends' issues have been engine related, really all electronic. They went with BMWs V8 just because it didnt make sense for them to develop a new V8.

I haven't driven a Range Rover in 10+ years, which is probably a good thing because then I would want to own one even more. I absolutely love them. You commented on the commanding seating position and visibility which is something I remember back 20+ years ago when a friend bought an early 90's RR. The commanding seating and visibility were unlike any vehicle I had ever been in and it holds true to every generation. How do they accomplish this, and equally as interesting is how is no other manufacturer able to copy it?

It's not strange at all. The Ingenium I4 that JLR developed is modular design that was used as the basis for the I6. Not too different than what several other automakers like BMW and Mercedes have done. As you know the AJ-V8 design is ancient and they didn't think it was worth investing in a new V8 design, hence the use of BMW's V8.
