There is a HUGE difference between a recall and a technical service bulletin (TSB). A recall is usually a safety-related item that can be performed regardless of warranty due to a failed part or design.

A TSB is a communication distributed to service areas with a specific fix for a problem. Some they will do for you automatically, others only if you exhibit a specific set of symptoms documented in the TSB. In my observation, fixed free when your car is under warranty, costs when outside of warranty unless you had it addressed earlier (when under warranty) and the fix didn't take.

And about taking the list in... why ask to fix something that you don't think is broken?
