When we took delivery of our (also custom-ordered) X3 this weekend, someone at the dealership was test-driving a new M2. Reminded me of the thread. It looks pretty nice in Brooklyn Grey - so I'd say you made a good choice.
PDI will be done tonight, seeing if I can work delivery into my schedule tomorrow, or if I need to do it Saturday.
That's awesome. I would be so antsy I would ask them to do it right away and try and pick it up tonight although picking it up first thing on a Saturday would be nice since you would have all day to mess around with it. When I ordered my cars, surprisingly I was able to pick them up the same day they arrived.

The unfortunate challenge of being responsible. I coach youth sports, and we have our end-of-season party tonight, and our final practice tomorrow night. So either evening is out. I have to see if I can finagle both me and my wife being out for a few hours tomorrow during the day, or have to wait until Saturday afternoon because we have chimney cleaners here in the morning.
Nice... Hope you can stretch your schedule out to squeeze it in.

Yeah I usually tell them to leave the plastic alone so I can take them off myself and drive home. One time I drove home with chalk mark on windshield. Even when I specifically said and repeated myself, one time the sucker SA decided to have it cleaned up and sent through the tunnel.
Trying to finagle delivery between the end of the workday and tomorrow night's practice.
Not too worried about them washing it, since they just spent tens of millions on a new wash/detail center that opened in March, and is designed around high-end cars--this dealer does Mercedes, Porsche, BMW, Cadillac, Infiniti, and Honda. My CA did explicitly ask for any special instructions, and I just told him no front plate and no stickers.
I think you'll most likely be fine with their wash because yours is not black. To think of it, I did let them wash mine last few services after I saw one coming out from the wash and looked nice no scratches under the light. I think their washes are much more advanced now. There's this dealer around me where they would put their name on the b*tt. I certainly would not want that. You're not getting a tesla so no good luck with your delivery.

I am ok with them taking off the plastic but that is it. They usually leave the other stuff in place for me to take off like the plastic film on the screens, etc. The worst was when I forgot to tell them not to put the front license plate on (because in MD it is the law) and when I came to pick the car up they already drilled in the front bumper. Wasn’t happy about that but I won’t make that mistake again.
