Too funny you say that because hardcore drag cars us the th400 powerglides to make easy launches and shifts 🤷
I've done the whole gammyt of clutch dumps, clutch slips, no lift to shifts, and easy peast zf / 10r trannies as well. Doesn't what you do as everyone is looking to make it easier and faster.....

Ok, no denying the electric cars put the horsepower & torque at the wheels more efficiently.
Plus add to that, watching them in the video getting ready to launch pressing buttons on a display like ordering a Big Mac just seems like cheating. haha
The Kia is impressive until you get to the mileage....only the Tesla can combine the performance and efficiency that ev's being to the table. Would of loved to see them throw in a i4 m50 to the battle.....

I don’t know about your Plaid but I don’t come close to the stated range. I lose 40 miles for every 100 miles I drive. Claimed and actual with Tesla isn’t accurate which is why I was asking about actual mileage.

Do you use Chill Mode? My brother in law's Model 3 rwd advertised range is 270, but real world is 250 using Chill Mode. He's not a slow driver

LOL I have never and will never use chill mode! I finally took a trip a couple weeks ago and all highway at about 70mph with 100% charge. I got 250 miles with sentry on, that’s it.

Another thing....do you you have 20" or 22" tires? Those size tires will eat into range. My friend who has 20" tires on his Polestar gets 10 miles or more less than me.
I get not wanting to use Chill Mode. I turn it to normal when I drive his car

I have 20” wheels and tires. It’s so noticeable even my wife notices it and my friend with a Model 3P notices the BS “range.”

M3P also comes with 20" wheels. If you are willing to sacrifice looks, I would go with 19", guarantee you will get better range and less road noise and feel. If you don't care and looks are more important, than keep those tires. When I get my Y long range, I'm going to opt for the 19"
On another note, I'm in SoCal right now, I was coming back from visiting my father who is in the hospital in the Ontario/Riverside area and a guy in a Mustang GT started riding my bumper (very common here) setting off my rear collision warning several times. I purposely drove slow, and when it was clear, I pushed it to the floor and gapped him so badly it was embarrassing. He finally caught up with me when I hit traffic. The look on his face... priceless . I wish I had the ability to film it

same lol. I didn’t buy the performance version to drive in chill mode. My 3P is closer to 250 real world. I did put wider wheels on it though used to be a bit better.
Tesla is too upscale, I will give Musk that. He nailed the market and even though I still am dismayed by the lack of quality control, there's no arguing Tesla is a hell of a brand with cachet. If I had enough money for 10 cars a Plaid would be one of them, cheap interior and all.

That's what happens when you serve up some humble pie to a bumper riding narcissist, their inflated egos just can't take it! haha

I've hit the advertised range in my M3P (~280mi), but I have to stick to the speed limit of 55-65, common in MD. I notice when most people claim "real world", they're referring to speeds of 70-80+mph, which makes a notable difference in required energy. At those speeds, I expect a bigger range hit, as going fast isn't free.
I'm usually in sport mode, but the biggest factors IME, are your right foot, battery temp, cruising speed/aero, and tire pressure.

Down 95 on my trip I was only going 70mph the whole way which I don’t think is going fast these days. No way to go less than that or I would get run off the road. Didn’t think the extra 5 mph would make that much of a difference. I was only wondering if Kia inflates their numbers like Tesla or do they do a true “real world” number like some other manufacturers.

I don't think 70-80 feels fast, but it's 15-25mph greater than many posted limits on MD's popular highways (270, 495, 695, 200, 95), and this will contribute to a range loss, the further you are from 55. Within the in-car energy app, it will tell you by how much and provide a recommendation to drop your speed from 70, if you want more range.
I agree, it's not practical in most cases, but I decided to test to see if it was doable, and it was. That said, since I'm rarely driving more than 100 miles a day, it doesn't really matter, so I'm okay with taking a range hit, if it means I can travel at a preferred speed.

What is your lifetime wh/mi?
I normally drive 70 to 80 mph on the freeway in my Polestar, and real world will average me 230 miles, which I'm fine with. 90 percent of the time I charge at home and plug in about every 5 days
