You wont be able to scratch glass with a microfiber. If you're getting scratching from wiper blades, etc the blades need to be changed.

I don't see scratches in your picture, I do see chips and pitting...the reason you see that more in the windshield of your ES than your Ridgeline is that the windshield is lower to the ground, and the car is more aerodynamic.

Welcome to CL as a new poster.

In general, I go by three cardinal rules. Change your wiper blades once a year or so....time and ozone in the air wears the rubber out and abrades the glass. Use the manufacturer-blades that the vehicle was designed for...which were probably the ones put on at the factory. And DO NOT, under any circumstances, run the wiper blades on dry glass....particularly if the glass has dirt or abrasives on it......that will give you fine scratches in the glass for sure. That is one reason I don't like rain-sensing wipers....depending on how they are programmed, they may (?) start the blades wiping across the glass with only a few drops of water......not enough to wet the windshield enough to prevent scratches. Also, I don't like the way some washer-systems work...they also automatically start the blades before enough washer-fluid has been squirted on the windshield. I prefer separate controls for the washer and wiper. I've gotten onto the habit of, just before I turn the ignition on, gently bumping the wiper-stalk to make sure it is off before the ignition comes on.....that will keep the wipers from wiping dry glass when the ignition comes on of you accidentally left the stalk in the on position from last night's rain.

And that obviously means TURN THE WIPERS OFF when the rain stops, or gets too light for the wipers to be of any realistic help....and don't forget the rear wiper if applicable. You would be amazed at the number of drivers who are completely clueless at this, and keep driving with their wipers still on after the rain stops.

There is at least one exception to what I just said. Steve (SW17LS) complained, on his Mercedes S-class, that he could not get its factory wiper-blades to stop chattering and making noise, no matter what he did. I agree that is annoying. So, in a case like that, you might as well use an aftermarket blade that will fit the windshield and not make that noise.

And, BTW, with your ArmyDoc screen-name......just out of curiosity, were you a Medic? If so, thank you for your service.

Are you sure its scratches and not something contaminated on the glass?

Default Scratches on windshield

[QUOTE=Armydoc37;11457027]I have a 2023 es300h and have only 8k on it now, but my biggest issue is my windshield is scratching so easy, I use a new microfiber cloth ea time I clean it but still scratches all over I have a 2009 honda Ridgeline with 55k and only couple scratches so don't know why this windshield is scratching so much.. can't get all scratches shown is anyone else having issues
I have a 2020 Lexus es300h. I have the exact same problem. However being 3 years older than your vehicle I have probably 50 or more scratches across the windshield. They are not scratches from the windshield wipers as most of the scratches are not straight. I almost thought that maybe they were from a cat or something that jumped on the windshield. I looked online and tried some remedies they suggested such as rubbing baking soda toothpaste in the scratches That fixed some of the small scratches but there are still dozens of scratches on my windshield that are deeper than a fingernail width wide and I have just learned to live with it. However I'm thinking it's probably a problem with all the ES models.
I take meticulous care of my vehicle and even have paint protection film on the entire front of the vehicle including fenders and had ceramic coating applied to the entire vehicle.
