Canadian fellows...there is a big article on how to avoid Brokerage service (default option for ground shipments) for FedEx and UPS if you google it. I called FedEx and asked about self-clearance option FedEx provides and lady said yes, just tell the sender to write in SELF-CLEARANCE and very important sender MUST put your name and contact (phone, email) as a Broker, there is option for that when filling shipping order. If this is not done then automatically FedEx and UPS will use their own Brokerage Service for clearing the shipment. Brokerage Fee depends on Value of the shipment, in UPS they got table on website but for FedEx you need to call and ask. They more value - more Fee.

I emailed to SEWELL LEXUS question if they can put my name as Broker and write SELF-CLEARANCE when they will ship to me but 2 weeks past and no answer. They have no phone to call so only email option left. I am not going to order unless they can do this for me.

yes most of us knows about self clearance...but for some of us (like me) life is too busy for that just to save a few bucks

unless i got a huge order then i'd probably CBI it anyways

Anyone of you guys did Self-Clearance with SEWELL? Can we do self-clearance with them? I plan to get side mirror as mine cracked and few things including keys so my order would add up to 1K. Dont want to pay $100+ for FexEx Brokerage Fee. I cant get hold of them via emails on this topic.

FedEx asked me my postal code then give me location where my shipment will wait for me while I am doing the self-clearance. For me it will end up in Markham warehouse, got address and phone.
