The Lexus service intervals are shorter than most European makes. Although if comparing the same exact services to BMW or MERC, the prices are usually lower at Lexus. I hope you don't have any additional services on your CL for long long time. lol nice car btw

If you have the garage space and a little adventurous, it is not a bad idea to learn how to do it yourself.
All those "inspection" are money grabbers. I can do those service in 30 minutes in my garage.

That's a good point. Just another reason to buy an IS-F!

Almost bought an F in 2009 w/ that $7k rebate. Long story.

Anyways, I assume the $300+ brake job is more than inspection & tip up fluid? I mean they have to bleed brakes & perhaps grind rotors right?

No, the $300 job is strictly cleaning and lubrication.

There is no bleeding or rotor machining!! Those are extra.
Bleeding is around $150.
Rotor machining is around $20 each rotor.

A car shouldnt need any of that with 32k unless there has been track time. My cars brakes were at 8mm and the tires were at 4mm.... And for the record I would never have the dealer replace brakes or tires lol

I'm not sure about the IS, but for the GS rotors, I would not recommend machining them. I did it once and they warped almost immediately. My independent mechanic told me of another GS owner who didn't heed his advice and machined his rotors. On his drive home they were already warped. My mechanic told me to always just get new rotors. After my warped rotors experience, I do exactly that. Costs a bit more but at least the brakes feel smooth and linear.

Thx all who replied. Got 32K done today. No surprises on the cost. It was the 1st service that I actually have to pay so it's not bad if I look at it this way.

Overall the service was good.

Will probably do my own oil changes & other basic maint when car gets older. I've done it before on Honda/Acura.

All Toyota dealers in GTA are part of groups that own Lexus dealers, they won't work on Lexus unless bought used from them.
