oooooo lord come one man lol i just got on someone about this JZ stuff way to much 1uz hate and betrayal i am thinking about just letting everybody be corny together and have the cute JZs looking exactly the same. it is not that serious and JZs aren't much better if any better then what you have already. if you have the thin rod motor all you need for 400hp is rods or a great tune for boost you can do 350 without rods. Stay away from w58s. how much power can your current trans hold? You can also use BMW transmissions PMC kits
My 1UZ has seen better days and showing its age at 336k. I originally got it cause I wanted to have owned every generation of the motor. 1uz in the SC400, 2uz in my old 4Runner and then the 5.7 in my Tundra. While yes everyone and their grandma does a 1JZ, doesn't take away from that feeling if you've never owned one.
I have a KA trans mounted to mine, so it wouldn't take any boosted abuse. I went the cheaper route when doing my swap. As a cruiser around town, it does just fine with it.
