I’ve been really busy lately, but slowly made a little progress here and there.

I may call this the Facebook Marketplace wall. The shop tables, seats, and cabinets all came from there. I guess one man’s trash really is another man’s treasure. Some of the prices were very low.

This is my favorite piece on the wall. A shop table with 5000 pound capacity. I looked for a sturdy table all winter that didn’t break the bank, and it finally paid off. This will get some casters so it’s easy to move out of this bay for projects after the lift is in. I noticed the wife set a 1000 piece puzzle on it, which makes me think she plans on taking over it for a little bit. It’s all good though, I’m glad to see her enjoying the space.

This is my form of Tetris. Storage management is very important when fitting so much in an 800 sq ft room. I couldn’t store these extra seats in the attic because the temperature fluctuations would probably ruin them. A 400 pound capacity tire rack got them up and out of the way.

I’ll take a garage break and turn my attention to the car now. Need to get her ready to drive. Right now I don’t have a working battery. See the battery thread if you have any recommendations.

Next major purchase is not a fun one. I’m mower shopping, so the lift is on hold.

Well that escalated quickly. I wanted a zero turn but didn’t want to buy new. I’d rather put that money into the house or a lift, or keep it in the bank for now. I’ve been watching Facebook marketplace for weeks, and normally decent mowers for 1500 or less sell before someone even responds to me.

I got fortunate today, though. This was posted 1.5 hours from my home. It’s a 2017 model with 170 hours. I grabbed a friends very rough trailer and picked it up. I’ll never borrow this trailer again.

I’m a big fan of Kawasaki engines, especially over the common Koehler and Briggs and Stratton.

Now to return the trailer... or burn it.

This is my last big purchase for a little while. Next up is a lift, but I’m not in a hurry. I have quite a few little projects to tackle on the isf, and a few odds and ends tools for auto and yard work to pick up. For now, I’m looking forward to actually working in my garage versus working ON my garage.

Finally turned my attention back to the car for now. I gave it some fresh filters and oil for the season, and of course, had murdered my battery. The timing aligned with the antigravity spring sale, so in went a 10.4 pound 30AH lifePO4 battery. Very happy with the over 30 pound weight savings.

I also pulled out the racing seats for some adjustments. They were leaning back a bit to far, and my wife wanted her seat a little higher. I will tidy that project up here shortly.

I took some weights, and my carbon seats with all the hardware saved right at 71 pounds. They also gave me about 3-4 inches of both headroom and rear leg room. No more helmet hitting the ceiling or buddies in the back complaining of cramped leg space.

I really appreciated having a dedicated space to work on things. Life is so much easier when everything is where it belongs, versus being spread out over my buddies’ shops.

I’ve made a big mess looking for all of the stock pieces to rebuild the is350 OEM seats, but it’s all back together and getting a detail prior to selling. I’ve contemplated getting a bigger daily for years, but the is350 has always been worth more to me than it was to the market. That has changed lately with used car values being through the roof. I’ll wait for used car prices to return to normal before replacing it.

It’s been an excellent car, and my first Lexus. It led me to the ISF.

Since the ISF seats are out again, I’ll post up true OEM seat weights here soon, since I’ve seen some debate on them.

I love the car and the garage build man! Both look great. I was wanting to do an epoxy covering on my floor, but your tiles have me thinking I may want to go that route. Are you worried about car fluids/rain water getting trapped underneath?

Also, GREAT score on those seats. They look awesome in the ISF.

Thanks. The seats are my favorite mod, on any car, ever! They really give it a supercar feel.

I have tested the tiles, they do not seep. They fit snug together. I’d go this route. If you buy overstock, it’s affordable, and they have a 25 year warranty, which shows you how tough they are. I think I have roughly 1900 in tiles for an 800 square foot wall to wall room.

Well this surprised me, the oem ISF driver seat is only 61 pounds. I’ll have to check my notes, but I think the carbon seat with all hardware and sliders was 31 pounds. That’s only a 60 pound savings for both seats. I’ll weigh the passenger just for confirmation. I love the seats, which have added tons of space and transformed the interior. That said, it’s not the weight savings I have seen reported by others. Looks like Hrdriven called it.

Was worth the price. My car will sit for two weeks at a time and go from 100% charge down to about 95%, and I get a message everyday with status. I no longer have to worry about it.

Love love love the bucket seats. I can only imagine what a game changer they are in terms of freeing up space alone; not to mention the driving feel without having to fight G's with every turn. Most definitely a mod on my radar.

This is an awesome garage build, my wife and I moved into a new home earlier this year and our garage was in a similar state but with holes in the walls and stains on all the walls. Pretty much had done the same things you had posted on this thread here as well with the same type of flooring too. Great progress and thanks for sharing the details to give me some other ideas as well.

I have some lower back problems, so the lateral support worked wonders in hard turns. I had hoped for more of a weight savings, but 60 pounds is still 60 pounds.

Tom's diffuser still off the car? I see something on the garage wall.

That’s the diffuser. I’m really on the fence. I’d probably rather have the bumper repainted and sell the diffuser, but it would be at a deficit and I’ve been busy lately so haven’t wanted to deal with paint quotes and whatnot. It looks good, but I have a very simple eye when it comes to cars. I generally don’t add anything to a body that doesn’t serve a performance purpose. We shall see what direction I go this fall as I have more time to mess with cars.

I just got a qoute on a bumper respray from a very good body shop and it’s less than the value of the diffuser, so I’m going to do that and sell the diffuser to cover it. Now I just need to decide if I like my round single tips with no diffuser. They seem a bit off without it.
