Update pics. New mount bushings, they're f250 front leveling kit bushings at 1.99" thick to replace the hockey pucks. Installed my e85 sensor, pump relay, and circuit breakers then powered up car just to check for fuel leaks. Decided to switch the plans around for accessories and going with an L84 water pump and custom ps bracket for a gm type 2 pump.

Trunk spaghetti

Water pump mock-up

Accessories and intake mock-up

Close up, the steam pipe will need slight bending no biggie. I read I needed a different cam phaser magnet sensor to clock the connection for clearance but that was not the case. L83 cam phaser cleared fine.

The belt will be too close to throttle so tried mocking a spare idler pulley on the alternator bolt but it pinches (2.5" pulley). Going to try a 2" pulley and see what happens.

Mocked my 5 speed pedal. Had to cut a bracket for steering tilt electronics box. The top pedal bracket bolt stripped and there isnt a bottom hole available... so I'll just use the 2 master cyl studs.

Stock master for mock-up but the final will be a 87 land cruiser or whatever "Fully Spooled" recommends for a 3/4 bore for my t56.

The hood used to have about 0.2 inch clearance with the throttle using a throttle adapter from holley. The adapter isn't happy with the steam pipe location and the throttle was flipped 180 deg to clear the water pump outlet. Now the hood hits so I'll probably cut it in the near future.

Well.. the pulley setup didn't work and I tried alternative belt routing and didn't work either. Put the holley adapter back on and I'll just have to cut the hood more than I wanted to.

Manual brake pedal is on, and changed out the ac condenser too. For my clutch line, I'm using a -3an line to a m10x1.0 to 3/16 adapter then a 3/16 to -4an adapter to connect to my tilton throw out bearing.

Tried to get the adapters for the clutch line but had a hard time finding the right sized stuff and right material (steel, not AL). Finally found an M10x1.0 female inverted flare to 4AN steel fitting on Pegasus Auto Racing website, P/N 3265-31.

Got my gas pedal figured... at least for now. The 2013 Impala pedal worked best out of that and a 2010 camaro and 2015 silverado pedal. Around a 2.5 to 2.6 inch spacer at the pedal mount location.

2x 1" steel square tubing, a 0.3x" aluminum scrap, and a 0.25" aluminum plate.

Just some more updating.

87 land cruiser clutch master

E85 sensor

Pedals after instal

Obd2 port in arm rest storage area

Routing obd2, pedal wires and alternator controller wires. Also moved wheel well harness

Trial fitting radiator and fans

JZ power steering reservoir works perfect

You have to slightly brake hone the crank bore to fit a 2010 camaro pilot bearing. From 1.69 to 1.70 inches

Tilton flywheel

Nascar clutch

Bellhousing fitment was not working. Pulled motor and had mounts machined down about a 1/4" also beat the firewall some more.

Still looks tight after trying to install. Going to use a hydraulic tool to expand the tunnel and going down another 1/4" on the engine mounts.

Had the input shaft machined to fit in the L83 crank flange. Pilot bearing interferes about 0.33 inches. Then dialed in the pilot bearing distance

Tight towards the top and interferes on the left side.

New mount bushings in. Clearance looks better for the tunnel. I'm still going to widen the tunnel.

Close but not touching on subframe.

Wow what a cool swap.

Interesting how the normal T56 doesn't have an additional inspection hole. I run my Tilton lines through a lower hole which makes it MILES easier to route the lines in the car.

Also interesting to note the face of the release bearing seems so tiny. I've had two different tilton bearings, one was a big flat face, the other was more rounded to suite my single disk.

Grannas cuts off a corner of the transmission where the lines go through on yours to clear the tunnel, im sure you could do the same. I only had to hammer three spots gently to make clearance.

It's had some material removed from the transmission, by the top bolt holes . Its just an fbody t56 nothing special. The bearing looked weird to me too but tilton recommended the part number for my application. I'll measure the O.D. and compare it to the pressure plate, just in case. My installation troubles are likely from the engine placement, pulling guinea pig duty here.

Put the transmission in. Had to cut around the shifter hole for clearance. Wish the engine was about 1/2" lower still but I'll leave it be. Didn't have much wiggle room so and to angle the tranny going in, then it wouldn't stab in all the way so had to cheat and use the bolts. I hate using the bolts because things easily go wrong.

The large hole seems unnecessary but it allowed more wiggle room while stabbing.

Couldn't post another pic. But the engine is running and sounds like a beast. Check it out on my IG: simple.gabe

I'm loving this. Forever jealous of having a T56 - this is going to be a hell of a good time!
