That's actually another idea I had as well, relocating the battery too the base of the trunk work in a shop now here in Oregon and there happens to be extra battery wiring they haven't used..🤔
What shop are you using? I'm also in Oregon and a bunch of independent shops don't want to work on anything earlier than 96.
Autocross event was successful, ol bird feels better than she's ever felt. And the numbers show during a 'test run' at Mary's Peak, as maximum grip on 340TW Firestone Firehawk Indy 500's was 1.11g. 1.06g was measured on asphalt at autocross with asphalt that was very pitted and in bad shape. 1.11g was pulled on a good road of asphalt.
SO. Got some news...she can handle a Hillclimb. 😁
One of the wildest things I've ever done, and definitely coming back. You're probably looking at the first and only LS/Celsior that's ever competed in a Hillclimb. Proud moment. She did VERY WELL, I didn't even get to push the limit of this car to be honest, I saw as much as 1.07 G on right hand corners, and 0.91g on left hand corners, so had I learned the course more I would have cut probably 10 seconds..which is fast here for a car with my power to weight ratio. Stability and cornering grip is amazing. My final time at Larison Rock after 4 runs and never been here before was a 140.6 seconds. I'm so proud of this ol girl, all with 294,000 miles and a 100% OEM cooling system. Also my hood is cracked open because I opened it to let the heat out, but forgot to close it completely..it was latched though😆

very cool, and surprised to hear you're running the stock cooling system! HPDEs are brutal on cooling systems, and worse for hill climbs esp if there is lots of elevation gained.
Yeah that cooling system was able to handle a 100° track day the first time I ever took her out, I was impressed. After that, I just kept the cooling system maintained to keep it in good shape.
Another autocross is in the books! This one was a high-speed course in Sisters, Oregon at the HooDoo Ski Resort. By far the largest course I've ever done with the EESCC (Emerald Empire Sports Car Club) I was able to capture the lateral grip on these runs, this one shows 1.20G, but I was able to extract 1.22G out of it on the next run. Kind of insane to see this ol bird evolve further and further. Braking was measured at 1.28G at its maximum. I may remove the rear sway bar since the car is so stiff now that it is a little bit more tail happy than I like even with the coilovers dialed down, removing it should reduce over steer significantly. The great thing about autocross events and hill climbs is you get the test all of your settings and adjust accordingly so you can get the car sorted how you like it. The front end feels amazing, showing no signs of understeer throughout the whole course. Current tires are Toyo R888R's.

Season is over for autocross, but now the car is adjusted better to my liking, for now she's enjoying time as my fun cruiser.😁
ended the season in 2nd, and she's gotten fast. 2 seconds behind a BMW M3 E46. All with a stock diff and only 30 more hp than stock.
got a killer deal on some Bridgestone Potenza RE-71RS tires, I couldn't pass up picking these up, a little used but so many more miles left in them. I gotta say, I was hesitant to pick these up when I found out about them because they don't offer any size above a 275, but these have no less grip than my 275s I've had with 200TW in the past. They are unbelievably sticky. I'm excited to try these out at next years autocross season. They amazing in the wet too.
