Do the SC300 and Toyota Soarer rear ends have any differences?
Is there any differences between the SC300 and Soarer differentials? I'm building a Toyota Soarer bare shell with a 1JZ, and I'm on a budjet. Power goals are arround ~350hp.

yep i have both cars and my 91 Soarer has a LSD not sure what the ratio is. My SC is manual from factory and has the NA manual open diff i think the ratio is 4:08. Have a 3:26 GS300 diff going in it once the weather clears up

Canadian SC400's got a rare Torsen LSD option but only for Canadian SC400's, not Canadian SC300's. If you put any Torsen LSD diff into your Soarer chassis you will be fine up to 450whp to just shy of 500whp but once you exceed that power figure they have been known to be at their limit and become a little unpredictable so that is when an aftermarket clutch type LSD is preferred. For 350hp the T-1 Torsen is perfect. A rare Soarer T-2 Torsen is also excellent at that power level.
GS300's didn't come with 3.26 ratios, just 4.083 or 4.272 depending on the model year. 1998+ GS400 VVT-i's got the same 3.26 ratio as the 1998-2000 SC400's but the companion flange for all GS's are 111mm vs the SC/Soarer's 101mm.
All GS300's and GS400's came open diff only.
