we got the trans in finally! just need to fill everything with fluid, get her registered and we're done!(ish) there's still a bunch of random stuff to do like clear the headlights, reseal them, push button start, paint it, finish the bumper i've been building, and a bunch of other crap. part 1 of the process is uploading now and will be live at 1pm central time today. oh and also need to relocate the shifter, i think i'll just cut it and weld it forward, i have some solid steel rod i can use.

Hey So next time your pulling a transmission on your back leave like 2 of the bottomish side bolts in and let the jack down where its still holding the transmission but brings the trans down and lets you access the top bolts really easy. its just flexing the motor mounts.

we got the car driving!!!! holy ***** a manual 1uz is amazing! only drove it around the neighborhood at night so only got to 3rd gear but hot damn it's fun! gonna register it this weekend, change the alternator because it's not charging at all for some reason even though i think it was when we first got the car.
honestly a welded diff isn't that bad at all, but to be fair it was wet so i couldn't really feel it much so we'll see what it's like in the dry.
all that's left now is for me to finish designing and printing the dash panel that will hold the switches and tablet, restore the headlights, relocate the shifter, and remove the ABS block which we can do later on cz i hate bleeding brakes and making hard line fittings. after all that it will just be paint and a sweet livery. i'm gonna try to edit a video today or tomorrow too.

yesterday after work i had a little time after mowing the lawn to put some pieces back on the engine. hopefully the cam covers help keep water away from the spark plugs because of the holes in the hood. i might even make a tray in the hood that covers the engine and will sort of scoop hot air out from the radiator and fans. these cam covers are actually off my old SC from like 3 years ago, i parted it out and my friend kept some of the parts. same thing with the oil cap. last thing is the little center wire cover which he'll give me off of his car as well. then i gotta get all the bolts that hold those pieces in because this car never had those parts and was missing the bolts too.
Denso alternator is ordered and will be here thursday, i'm gonna see if i have time today to pull the old one out and test it on the bench. all the wiring is good there and the alternator does charge a little at high RPMs which makes me think it actually is the alternator and not something else.

part 2 of the struggle continues. we get the flywheel, clutch, and pressure plate installed, as well as redoing the valve cover gaskets and spark plug tube gaskets.
