Default Drivetrain clunk on ECT 'norm' setting, not on 'power'

When first lifting off the throttle while in 'norm' setting on the ECT in my 95 LS there is a very noticeable loose clunk in the drivetrain. Doesn't happen at all when in 'power' mode and is a very tight car otherwise. The car has done about 160,000 miles. Has had new engine and transmission mounts and a tranny service about 2-3 years ago (10,000 miles ago). As I prefer the 'power' setting I'm more concerned about it as a warning of future problems (or suggestions to avoid future problems). Any advice greatly appreciated.
