Default Just another Royal Jade Pearl stock -95 Sc400

Hi Guys
This will not be anything exciting. No high hp-build or swap. Just documenting what has been, and will be done to this old lady.

This was my first love so to speak . I had a always been faithful to Saab (900s and 9000s) earlier, but this car brought me to the lexus/Toyota camp. I bought her in 2006. She was imported directly to some celebrity in Germany as new, so she has never been in the States. The previous owner imported her from Germany to Sweden in the late 90s
I´ve never used her during the winter and she´s in pretty good condition..Not mint, but no rust.and the paint and the inside is ok.
Earlier on I had plans on supercharging her, but I had no knowledge and no tools. so it just didnt happen. It would have caused problems with the MOT as well. As for now I want to keep her stock 1uz and enjoy the smooth ride and the sound of the V8. She´s in my garage right now for some minor mods.

, Thanks Gerry!

Plans for 2018

1)Facelift kit
Bumpers, side skirts and tail lights are on its way from Gerrb in Atlanta
2)timing belt/water pump
3)New rims
I have a set of 18´rx350 wheels and a set of 19´ wheels that came with one of the Supras. I haven't decided yet what to use. Any suggestions?

Present 16´

18´rx350

19´

4) 2,5´dual exhaust
So this is what I´m doing right now. I´ve just bought 2,5 ´ pipes and two catalytic converters.
About to start welding it all together. I don´t think it will do anything to performance, but I hope it´ll improve the sound

Thank god you ordered new oem tail lights from gerrb. The current ones on your car are the most hideous thing you can do to your SC. Makes me want to vomit just looking at them.

Congrats on the new car!

Hi -97 sc300

Thanks!

yes I kind of agree with you when it comes to the tail lights. I think +-97 oem looks the best, -95-96 is ok, but I don´t like the pre -94 ones. Too much orange. I would actually prefer the clear ones before the pre-94s.. Sorry for making you nauseous

.

Thanks! I´m really happy with the result. The paint shop has done a great job again. Good quality and reasonable pricing
The shipping from Hampton VA to Stockholm was a bit delayed this time , but the parts finally came. No damage. Good parts as usually . Thank you Sir!

Thank you aswang! This car will be my daily driver for a while now. I´ve put some money into her to make her reliable. New timing belt, water pump, front main seal, valve cover gaskets, serpentine belt, spark plugs and alternator. Refilled ac as well after changing a leaking o-ring. She´s ready to go.

The only thing that I don´t like about her now is the exhaust. It´s too loud. The 2,5 inch system with race cat converters that I´ve installed works fine and passed the MOT, but it´s a bit too much when revving more than 2000 rpm. I´ll try to restrict it a bit. I miss the Lexus comfort. Maybe I´m getting old

Absolutely Lettut! That is a lovely DD for sure and definitely reliable after performing the said maintenance.

I'm with you on the exhaust noise. Even if my SC is not my DD, I still want it as quiet as possible. Look for motorheaddown's build thread(s). I really admire his set up as it's performance enhancing and at the same time whisper quiet. He has videos of his exhaust and I have to an extent mirrored his setup. Nice stock'ish look but feel mine has a deeper sound.
