HELLO PEOPLE I NEED SOME SERIOUS HELP WITH GETTING MY SMOG PASSES I HAVE A LEXUS IS 250 2008 WITH A K&N INTAKE.. I TOOK IT TO GET SMOGED BUT THE VISUAL INSPECTION DID NOT GET PASSED I DID NOT KNOW IT WAS MY FIRST TIME GETTIN IT DONE THE REASON WHY IT DID NOT GET PASS IS BECAUSE, IT DIDNT HAVE THE PLAQUE ON THE INTAKE WHICH I NEED ...SO I HAD CALLED K&N COMPANY AND REQUESTED A LABEL BUT THEY DONT MAKE THEM ANYMORE DUE TO AFTER MARKET INTAKES .. DOES ANYONE KNOW THE PLAQUE NUMBER FOR WHEN THEY PUNCH IT IN FOR THE SMOG ??? OR WHAT CAN I DO PLEASE NOTFY ME !

Step 1: Replace intake with the stock intake
Step 2: Go back and pass Smog
Step 3: Put the K&N intake back on and enjoy your car for 2 years until you need to do smog again.

 

On K&N's website, they specifically say the intake for the IS250 is NOT CARB exempt so you wouldn't have the plate anyways. The only one I can immediately recall being legal in all states is the F Sport intake. Like what was said above, switch back to your stock intake. If you don't have it, find someone who will swap with you for a day.
