interesting....im not sure if i missed this but how does the mk3 lsd fit in the stock pumpkin? i always thought the is300's were the same as gs300?
please enlighten me if you have a minute.
It's a direct fit into the is300 pumpkin, with the only modification is cutting the axle stubs. I followed this guide http://my.is/forums/f88/how-complete...n-swap-406921/ and I retained my stock auto gearing of 3.91. I have put around 10k miles mostly of abuse.
The GS does not use the same pumpkin as the IS, no.
The IS300 uses the same pumpkin as the IS250 RWD, IS250 AWD (2009+), FR-S and BRZ. They all use the same size diff as the older G-series 8" differentials like the A70, etc.
Its got to be all that sunshine and warm weather that can convince people 700hp is reasonable in your daily driver. I can only dream of being so lucky.
I know this might be extremely uncouth to ask, but what's the budget on a build like this?
Your dedication and.. pocketbook are awe inspiring. I think probably 98% of IS owners at least daydream about a GTE swap at some point, maybe not to this degree, but seeing this really puts it into perspective the amount of custom work and trial and error that goes on with a build like this. That's awesome that you have people/businesses in the area that can help with everything, I don't even have anyone in the area that I would trust with tuning it when I got it together.
JONATHAN started with Syncis when he was just 19 years old. A son of immigrant parents, Jonathan knew from a young age that it was not only expected of him to be successful, but that he truly wanted to achieve success as well. Sadly, Jonathan’s father passed away from cancer in 2009. He had promised his father that he, as the eldest son, would take care of the family. Losing his father at such a young age was and still is one of the hardest things that he has had to endure. Nevertheless, that last conversation that he had with his father, promising that he would provide for our family, gave Jonathan the strength and determination to do anything and everything to make sure he kept that promise. Prior to joining Syncis, Jonathan was a college student and a leading Martial Arts instructor.
Jonathan made the transition into financial services full time not only to create a lasting business, but because he truly wants to help families thrive. After he met Vahid Chitsazzdeh that first time in the then Encino office, and explained what Syncis does for families, Jonathan could not help but to think of his own family, to think that if his parents had sat down with Vahid or another Syncis agent, how different his life could have been, and how his family would have been given the luxury to grieve without any financial pressures. Jonathan’s strength lies in helping individuals and small business owners grow and protect their assets. He is also one of the top trainers in the SF Valley office, and has recently branched out and opened up affiliate offices.
What kind of "eBay" turbo manifold did you purchase? With the turbo clearances so close, I feel like these turbo manifolds may be hit or miss when it comes to fitment. A lot of them are designed for the Supra which won't fit our cars
