this will be a rather slow but fun project for me.
ive had my sc300 for about 1.5 years now and finaly going to start to do my 2jzgte vvti swap!
ive never done a swap before so this may be rather slow and painfull process for me but i am looking forward to it. i picked up my aristo 2jz from jdm engine bay (out of San leandro ,ca / bay area) dude just opened his shop 2 months ago and is a really cool guy from Canada.
anyways just posting some pics and letting you guys know that i will be updating and adding as many pictures as possible along the way and hope to get feed back and opinions on anything positive you may have to say.
thank you for the welcoming, lilSCsteve.
i will be keeping it automatic for the time being. and little by little after i have the swap in i wil be changing things. i plan to first upgrade to a single turbo then later do a r154 swap.
as this is my first project car, i will be taking things slow and learning on the way. i dont like to take my cars to shops or mechanics to get work done. i have a few friends who can help, as well as teach me get it done.
i oppened up the ecu box and found a 6 plug ecu ?? ive looked in the forums and found it is a - 89666-30180 (0007-) with the anti theft module. it is not the standered 80pin +40pin ecu plugs..
its the w/vvti 2jz (161 aristo) ecu.
i will need to send in my harnes to "panicwire" to get them to rework my 2 harnesses. from what i saw on their we site it seems to be cheaper than "tweakdperformance" by abot 3-400$$
i sent the guy and email and he will be giving me a more exact quote soon.
shortly after getting my wiring harness back from mark at "Panic wire" i installed the harness and started to put in the new 2j.
i found out the hard way that i had to beat the back of the fire wall in so the the new trany and the twins would fit.
installed reworked harness on aristo
drilled our rear sump turbo drain
made new studs
inter cooler set up
its in!
im in the processes of getting my drive shaft done to bolt on to the aristo trany
also trying to figure out how to get the sc300 power steering banjo fitting and bolts to work or how to make it work in general.
also need to figure out A/C compressor high side fitting how to get that to bolt up.
Any close up pics of the panic harness.I am thinking about sending mine out to them snice there in the Tristate area

sadly i didn't take any pics of the harness its self (but ill get some pics of the extras he added on here asap)
But i can say i am very happy with marks work! everything fit and plugged in like a factory harness. i routed all wires and all plugs the same and it fit like a glove!! he modded the harness for easy plug and play auto to manual swap. (added VSS plug, and neutral safety wires) also easy plug for adding the tach adapter!
hes cool and easy to contact, i blew him up with emails and he always answered the same day or the next. when he was working on the harness he called me and gave me an update and told me the extras he had added! he replaced all broken plugs / connectors for free!
marks a cool guy and i really appreciate his help with the harness.
Looking good so far. Have you thought about sequential with the turbos? With an AEM Series 2 EMS and upgraded 7MGTE Injectors and Exhaust, you're in business.
