How brittle are your harness connectors? I had a cam sensor code and it was due to a broken connector at the sensor. The engine heat is a killer of those plastic connector bodies.

No idea as the car is at the body shop.

A local Lexus dealer diagnosed the issue as being the ECU needs to be replaced as the cylinders are NOT mis-firing.

The dealer then said it will take a while to find an ECU due to the age of the car. Anyway, they finally found a replacement somewhere in the US and apparently it will be another 2 weeks before they can get it here. I don't get this part.........

They found the part somewhere in the US, but can't get it for two weeks???

Seeing how the car is not starting and I had a very simliar issue with the cam sensor and would not allow the car to start.

here is what my mechanic replaced:

Brand New Battery + Replaced both terminals to military style terminals + thicker Ground wire
Fuel Pump replaced w/ DeatschWerks Unit with all OEM toyota fuel related parts
OEM Toyota Front Cam sensor (near or under the timing belt)
Any fuses under both under the hood and inside the vehicle, inspected and replaced accordingly

Old gas was drained out of the tank and the car fired right up on the first try .

So with that being said, as only a suggestion above, but I would check the front cam senor (due to front end collision) and under the hood fuses, as well, check the status of the battery as the car has been sitting for a while

I am also wondering, could it be possible that your key has lost programing or that maybe one of the airbag sensor's may have been triggered, not allowing it to start.

As well if all else fails, there is a person on this forum who sells salvaged parts, in which I have bought and picked up at the boarder and brought back.

Good luck and hope you find a solution to your problem

Thanks for the feedback.

The Erin Park Lexus dealer has diagnosed the issue and has ordered the ECU and the drivers side air bag sensor to address the cam sensor error code. That's the short version of the story.

The car is starting no problem.

Crossing my fingers now and hoping that nothing else comes up.

Maybe the headlights from the donor car were so badly faded that the polishing done couldn't clear them? Not sure right now. But you're right the drivers side definitely looks very hazy.

Something I'm planning to do with some cosmetic vinyl.
