2004 LS430 audio sound is not coming on. I recently bought the car and it had been working fine so it may be something I am not doing right. The navigation screen shows the radio/cd are operational and volume controls can be adjusted but no sound is coming through the speakers. Any suggestions as to what may be the problem?

Your amp probably went out and needs to be repaired. Very common problem. There's a guy on ebay that does the repair for $350 with a 1 year warranty. Got mine repaired last month and its working great.

Thanks for the reply, I had been informed by the previous owner that the amplifier might be needing to be serviced because the speakers would make a crackling sound when the ignition was turned on or off but at least the radio would come on. Then the sound has been gone all together for the past few weeks, even though it surprised me a couple of days ago when the sound did come on, though it was only for that one time.

Am wondering if it might be a loose connection somewhere or something minor that I should do a process of elimination first before sending amp for repair. I checked all the fuses and they are good and even disconnected the negative ground cable to reset the system but that didn't work either. In the meantime, if someone doesn't suggest any other possible alternatives, can you provide me the contact info on the person who repaired yours? Thanks!
