Great looking ride !!! Black was not one of my choices until I've seen a couple here including yours that now had Black up front of my original choices of White and Silver

Unfortunately, they did not wrap it in vinyl as I had asked. Rather, they used PLASTI-DIP

I'm taking her to another shop in just a few moments to see if they can actually wrap the grill surround in gloss black vinyl.

The shop I went to did a rather poor job even with PLASTI-DIP....I spent 2 hours last night trying to get the overspray of it out of my grill....every zig....every zag....

That's surprising considering this was a reputable shop (if I recall you mentioning). i assume you talked with them about it and what did they say?

I've honestly been going to this shop for about 6-7 years and have never had such poor and shoddy work. The guy thought they did a great job....

Rather than cause a scene or fight over it, I just left and decided to take my business elsewhere. I would have asked them to remove the Plastidip since it's not what I asked for, but I feared they would just cause more damage to my car.

So, today, round 2. Let's try again

Pa, not sure how well Pastidip is going to hold up to weather or washing (definitely not an automatic car wash). You might as well just had it sprayed with Line-X.

To try and remove the overspray I would try denatured alcohol. it is sold in most hardware and paint stores. try an inconspicuous sample first to make sure it does not attack the finish on the grille. We use this product all the time to remove paint overspray with no damage various surfaces.

Thank you sir, I will try that! It's so difficult to get in between each little space. My fingers are small, but not THAT small lol

Default Update 7-19-13

Ladies and Gentlemen, I am pleased to say that the shop I visited today did an AMAZING job. They removed the Plastidip from the front grill surround and actually disassembled my front bumper/grill to WRAP my grill surround in gloss black vinyl.

So, here's the progress made for today:

Yellow DRLs
Black Vinyl Grill Surround
Tinted front emblem
Carbon Fiber vinyl lower left/right bumper

And here's the result

Her first meal at Chevron

Stay tuned. More to come!
