It's been a few month since i posted anything. Been working on the LS here and there and finally finished the audio portion. I've touch pretty much all I could on the rest of the car so it's just the audio that is left. (Except the engine...anyone got $10K I can borrow for asupercharge? ) I had a subwoofer replacement in here before but now wanted to do a full sound system. So, with the help from my buddy at Impact Performance in San Mateo, we went ahead with the project.

I decided to add two 10" subwoofer in the left and right corner of the trunk. It had to be done in fiberglass so we taped both corner in preparation of the resin.

The rest of the floor and TV were taped up and fiberglass/resin were applied...numerous coats.

When both fiberglass base were cured, they were removed and additional layer of fiberglass and resin were applied to make them more durable. I left them in the sun to dry quicker.

Next, speaker ring/baffle were made for Focal 10" subwoofer.

Test fitting the sub and the baffle ring.

Angling the baffle ring to see where i want it to sit. Keeping sound and aesthetic in mind.

Decided on this angle...slightly pointing outward and slightly up. Wooden rods were used to glue the baffle ring in place.

Fleece material wrapped both sub boxes, stapled and excess fleece material trimmed off. Now it is ready for the resin application.

Once the resin application dried, I test fitted the box in the left and right corner to make sure everything fit as it should be.

Now, this was the part that SUCK the most. Sanding, bondo, sanding, bondo, repeat... Here is the finish product...ready for painting or wrapping.

I decided to wrap the sub box in matching leather with the rest of the trunk. Hot spray glue applied, wrapped and trimmed the excess.

The finish product. Just need to secure and run all the wires.

When the fiberglass subwoofer boxes were being built, I started the trunk lid in parallel. I was trying to get booth projects done at the same time for a local car show.

First, we taped up the entire trunk to prevent any dripping of resin. A friend had an extra trunk lid for me to use. I still have the original one that was diamond stitched.

We applied a few coat of resin to the OEM trunk lid to harden it. After it has harden, i removed it from the trunk lid and added more resin. It needs to be strong to support the speakers.

Next is deciding on how the mid/tweet and LCD monitor will fit altogether. There isn't much room on our trunk lid so i tried to squeeze in what I can without making it look overcrowded.

Laying it out on the trunk lid to get a better visual. Once on, we angled it to a certain position that is optimal for the audience.

Once we like the angle, fleece was put over the entire trunk lid and resin was applied.

We put the LCD monitor in the middle and fleece that as well.

Test fitting the LCD after fleece was pulled over. Next, resin was applied.
