A little background:

Mid 90's
My Uncle had a 94 GS Touring and a 98 GS3. Being in NY, his cars were always spotless. Not a bumper ding, scratch, nothing. It sparked my interest in the Lex.

2002
Had a Acura Legend. In Atlanta at the time, SELOC was the only import enthusiast putting on meets /cruises worth attending. Mature, sociable, occasional "spirited driving" :) the meets were always on point. Always wanted a 2nd Gen. Joined CL and lurked the forums from time to time.

2005-10
Jumped around. Had a 2000 Millena S as a daily till the Supercharger blew, went through five 2nd Gen 240sx's and two GTO's.

Couple of previous car pics:

Purchased a 1999 GS 300 August 2012. One owner, southern car. Original owner paid cash for it and purchased it on my birthday in 1999. (How ironic) He loved the car. All Lexus serviced and hand washed by him always. For a 14 y/o car it was pretty flawless.

August 2012:

Super stock, overall clean.

Had a set of wheels from my last car. Put them on and did a test fit. Poke city. Stock suspension, untouched fenders.

Last few weeks:
Doing my rendition of a "SportDesign Blonde Saddle interior". While interior was out, ran audio for add on 10" sub to replace rear pioneer. (still sounds excellent for 13 y/o audio technology)
Gunmetal matched centers on the wheels (blends with the SD headlight bezels and fender emblems.

Will update in the next few days. A few odds and ends on the exterior & interior cosmetics to clean up.

Update:
SportDesign Steering ECU installed.

Also scored a brand new TRD Strut Tower Brace.

my rendition of a "SportDesign Blonde Saddle interior"

Did not want to pull dash, replace switches, etc... So left the taupe/dark tan top split. Also kept the pillars, headliner, visors, door trim, ivory tan.
Everything else from the bottom down was redone black.

Since the door panels were removed, I updated the wood with a matching set from a SportDesign along with the chrome shift trim and 01+ gauge cluster. Found a brand new RX300 steering wheel and the wood was a great match as well. Repalced the A/C vents black and the bottom seat trims black as well.

Dr. seat leather was beat. Ended up replacing it with a passenger seat cover w/ foam from a donor car. Cleaned up the leather, looks great.

i commend your taste in cars. i always thought the Millenia S was a nice sedan. Not to mention the Acura Legend Coupe is STILL one of my favorite Big Coupe as far as FWD cars go. Especially the '95 6 Speed LS

SprtDesign May 2, 2013 12:12 PM

Thanks. The Millenia was decent. The supercharger is bound to fail no matter how good the car is maintained. I brought it at 125K and the SC failed at 190K. 2.3 L Miller C. motor, in decent weather the car would scoot. In 100+ degree weather look out the car will overheat on you if not constantly moving. Maintenance $$ is comparable to the GS, ride quality as well.

The Legend was awesome in its own respects. 95 LS 6-speeds are about as hard to find as White/Black GS's. A white/black 6-speed or blk/blk 6-speed coupe would still probably fetch $8-12K depending on condition. Legend's had head gasket issues but that's about all. Not much you could do to them performance wise, but could be styled into a decent "neck-breaker".

Nice build thread. good score on the trd strut bar aslo can you give me info on your flip key. where did you get it

and does this act as a master key also since it has lock/unlock/trunk function?

SprtDesign May 2, 2013 03:21 PM

Flip Key was brought on eBay. You can either give the seller your key code or take a picture of your blade and email it to them. They cut it and ship you the shell and the blade. You take your master keys guts out (transponder w/ the buttons and battery) and install in the flip key. Very easy. The key was cut as I had the code from the 1st owner. Key works without issue.

The TRD was a great find $122 shipped!

Looks awesome man! And I love the interior idea. Any more pics with the tan on the pillars, roof showing?

SprtDesign May 2, 2013 07:02 PM

I'll have to get some of the roof/pillars. Would be nice if I could get the seat piped out black but too time consuming.

puff May 2, 2013 07:10 PM

Interior looks good. I like the idea but I wish the seats were grey instead of tan.

gittert May 2, 2013 08:05 PM

Man where did you find that strut bar and steering ecu? How do I locate my key code? They can cit a key based off a picture???
