I guess I can follow your build now here. Keep all those reciepts, I may need a copy of them one day for my motor build.

Very nice build. That bottom sure did cost a pretty penny. Should be able to take a lot more abuse.

Andrew,

Man I'm glad we started out with exceptionally clean cars before our builds. Not to knock anybody, but some of these guys are spending a bunch of money on some "rough" cars. The main reason I sold my red one was that I knew I'd end up spending to much money to get it where I was going to be happy with it.

Clean car. Yes. That is why I am keeping this car as my long term project. The only thing I don't like about it is the previous owner installed a really old kenwood flipout headunit. The audio system has to be completely redone. My interior is just as nice as the exterior. You did your audio and your car is super clean. It is always a project, but I am glad I chose a clean one. I have around 73k miles on the car, and you wouldn't be able to tell.

Yeah,

My interior looks like new. I just turnded 75,000 on mine. I swear it looks like it has 25,000.

True. Then boost logic should have made them so I have 9.2:1 compression with a GE head and gte gasket.

Definitely a good compression ratio. Anything from 8:5:1-10:0:1 works on these cars well.

Just a small update:

I got the gaskets, seals, flywheel bolts, and other stuff today. I ordered the Powerhouse Racing 2JZ Modified Oil pump, just waiting for that to come in. Then I can really move forward in reassembly. The pump should be here this week.

Got the head and oil pump installed today. I need to get some more o-rings for the upper oil pan and water pump. Otherwise I would have kept progressing with the install.

Received the Gates Racing timing belt, for a really good price. And also talked to Sound Performance. They will have a SC300 in their shop in April, and said they will be able to fab a custom catch can for me. And yes it will have the intake line for the vacuum. The price should be between $300-$400. A whole lot better than $800 from Powerhouse Racing.

And another item that I have not mentioned, is a full stainless steel braided clutch line, which will be here next week by Chase Bays. The clutch line was the only thing I had to cut to remove the engine/trans. I will try to continue engine assembly tomorrow. I will have to clean the upper oil pan and remove the sealant from it. Fun fun fun...
