Well if you are not your daily, i would go ahead and start the conversion so you don't have to deal with taking the stuff back off later.
Drill and tap you oil pan while the engine is out.
Are you replacing the hg?

oh yeah its much easier to do half the turbo stuff while your engine is sitting outside the car.
my back was killing me after getting all the manifold, turbo, wastegate and everything bolted together with in the bay.
you should definitely take care of the pan drain line now, it will require one of those 90 degree drill adapters if you do it in the bay.

-Original owner, old guy
-Brought it in for a radiator and while he was in there, front cover service
-Couldn't pay for service
-Technician knew what was there and offered to take the car to square the bill
-Technician had no time left to do the car, after he built it to turbocharge
-Put car/parts on CRGLST
-I swooped in and got the whole lot, and am assembling it myself.
Everything is perfect, like a gift really. I am psyched.

Wow sounds like you got a nice package deal.
Well I'll give you some work to do, It looks like those may be the coils with the built in ignitors.
If thats the case, you will only be able to use them if they put out an IGF and you can tie them together to 1 wire and it happens to work with the TT ecu.
I never tried or tested it and I haven't seen anyone do it before, but I remember looking into those type of coils specifically.
If these are the ones with the external ignitor than it should be fine.

I imagine that like most other Toyota stuff the IGF should be there.
Since there are 4-wires per coil it seems that:
-Two wires fire the coil
-The other two wires complete the igniter circuit.
So if this is true, what's stopping me from only wiring the coil circuit and bypassing the internal igniter on each individual coil?

I don't think the 4th wire is a coil trigger, I think the 4 are: 12v, ground, IGT, and an IGF.
there is some info in this thread, that says what I was suggesting is how a 1zz is wired stock.
another person said it didn't work but they are also trying to sell something so yeah, it might work.

Yes, it's getting a minty green re-spray and is going to roll sport bikes on the highway.
I know the BW is getting way more attention, but in my book you just can't beat a turbo that was designed for a diesel.
These things are crazy strong, make the sexiest Spool noise anywhere, and has a map that gets better the more you turn it up. You can't beat it.
