200,000 and Still Going

- So it's sorta obvious that I didn't sell my car last year after all, I don't think it was time yet for me to let her go. Meanwhile, I was going through some iPhone pics and I came across some stuff that belongs in this thread.

First - the milestone, happened on January 5th of this year, my car reached the 200,000 mile mark. Of course, the obligatory odometer picture (I took the photo while going 60+ on the freeway, so it's blurry.)

200,000 daily driven miles!

Second - I am on new tires, the last set of Falkens lasted about a year (put them on after the custom plate install, but I didn't post it here) so it was time for new shoes. I'm fortunate that my tires last a long time (usually) but it's all because I don't run crazy camber and I keep my alignment on check.

Thank you Lexus for the (not) awesome trunk space.

Flushed and tucked for fun.

"Shiny. Let's be bad guys."

There's a few other random pics I took during a rare rainy day here in SoCal, I'll post those up in a bit ,as well as one of the reasons why I'm pretty much done with this project (supposedly lol).

(continued later)

Your s14 was the one that inspired me to get my first 240sx...and my second, and third etc.

It's kind of ironic how much time I spent following your build thread and here I am in the same chassis as you again.

Keep up the good work and overly detailed postings!

Haha.

It was really your attention to detail and subtly in your mods. Now that I've said that, this thing needs boost.

To be honest, boost was supposed to be the grand finale

Thanks for sharing your activities and ideas. Your car is an inspiration to us "amateurs" and I really like how you have helped a lot of folks (including me) on wheel fitment.

Your car is gorgeous and despite it's 20 year stature it is truly unique. Keep up the posts and advice..... Thanks again....

You're welcome.

BTW I don't visit that wheel thread like I used to... it used to be cool, but it got to a point where there was an influx of certain types of newbs that were either: A. Faking the funk (asking what it would take to make copy wheels fit like the originals); or B. Lazy asses (the ones who won't even put the effort into looking for an answer that's already there.)

Lately I've been pretty busy with work, but when I have some free time I still don't mind helping the people here on CL when it's someone who really needs help - which is different from being lazy.

Pay to play, that's what it is in this "hobby" of ours. I've seen a lot of people try to half-*** stuff, then wonder why it fails or comes out crappy. (My "repaint adventure" doesn't count, since I went to that paint place on recommendation from a friend, so I blame him LOL)

Man, I didn't realize it, but you're right - my car is just about 20 years old!

A couple of random pics:

Pic I snapped during my lunch break on that one super rainy weekend in SoCal.

Fishpond. I should buy some koi fish =P

...and this is why the car mods have slowed down - I've taken up mountain biking and I'm addicted to it. Here's my 2-wheeled ride:

...almost cost more than my car. LOL
