Anyways, my brother bought me a generic supra tt strut bar off ebay to put on my car. I figured I might as well put it on my car. Had to put washers under to make it clear the engine cover

Oh, didnt know that. Too late though, already bought washers at home depot and installed it. Its really not a bad strut bar for I think it was... 30 bucks? I forgot, my brother bought it. Lol so cheap
Curious, "washers"?

I did similar by cutting some 6061 .25" alu. The same size/shape as the tower brace brackets. Bending the brace more you'll not need the spacer. The towers on mine weren't flat due to warpage during welding. The spacer gives a uniform base but not necessary. The 6061 is gummy so it clogged up the bandsaw blade that I use for cutting steel. (needed a coarser pitch.)
Some old pics of the spacers:

RA40, The way the strut bar came, it fit my car just needed a few mm of clearance to clear the engine cover. Didnt need to bend the bar at all. I just went to home depot and put 2 washers on each bolt underneath the strut bar. I could have had a custom spacer plate made up like lexkost's, but I didnt want to spend unnecessary money to make a $30 strut bar fit. Sorry I'm a cheap haha
hey vince, if your bro had bought you a $30 supra TURBO strut tower bar, it woulda bolted on w/o any washers. they come with a mild bend.
mine was about the same price or less lol, STBs don't really do much bracing in our cars.
95-97 need a mkiv turbo bar with a 1/4-3/8" spacer or washers. 98-00 can run a mkiv turbo bar without any mods.

Yeah it was the turbo model. I mean, everything bolted right up. It just BARELY touched the engine cover. I thought I would have vibrations since it was "touching", so I put the washers on just in case.
