SC570--The OFFICIAL build thread

Huh, never looked at the BW turbo's that much.
I would say pull the trigger. And you are right, it can be done cheaper (power vs. cost) than a 2jz, and this is what I have tried explaining to the guys getting swaps at my shop too lol.
Ill be getting everything on my car as soon as possible, but depends how busy I am at my shop with these 1j/2j swaps.

I can see why the LS swap is gaining popularity. right out of the box these engines are producing great power and what I got from that little article the engine seems bullet proof at a conservable HP setting .
when comparing costs is the LS swap cheaper in the end than the 2jz?

The cost of the swap itself can be cheaper depending on how you part the swap together. If you stick with cheaper used parts ( junkyard 5.3 with f-body pan/intake, self made harness, 4l80/60, etc.) it could in theory be done for under $4000, and I have a customers car in my shop right now that went slightly over budget to get a low mileage 5.3. His other downfall was the DBW, which complicates things slightly. But so far for his 5.3 (LY5) and T56, PSI Conversions harness, f-body pan/intake/driveshaft, AMS Motor mounts (amsmike here on the forums), clutch/fw, and other supporting parts, he's (if Im keeping track properly) right at $4300 including the reluctor wheel change to ditch the dbw and convert to cable throttle with LS1 PCM.
But in the end, toe to toe, I think you can make more useable/reliable power with a boosted LSx than a 2JZ for a lower cost...in theory. Now Im keeping tabs on my build, and once the boost kicks in, Ill have a price to compare to a similar powered 2JZ. So time will tell.

Weather got the track shut down a bit early, but managed to pull a 12.9@106 with a 1.98s 60ft. Hooked pretty decent at 20psi, probably could have gone down to 18psi and not had the wheel shudder on launch, but hooked good enough it threw the camera a bit out of focus.
And for those not wanting to accept that I get 28+mpg, this was taken last night after the track, round trip from my house to the raceway (90.6mi round trip) and includes both runs at the strip, and a couple of highway pulls..I can take another if needed, or video.
Time for boost

Nice! Care to build one for me? heh
Wondering how much you think it'll cost to build a most basic manual Lsx powered SC [with A/C] that wont have any issues; what do you think? (Already have the DGR mounts) Parts, and then if someone was paying to have the swap performed vs. doing it themselves?
Really looking foreward to seeing those times drop on boost..

Looking good. I love the revolution series in that dash. I had the normal speed hut series in my LS1-RX7. If you are still debating dp placement, I have seen a few do a split and cross over at the rear of the oil pan. I'm actually following two builds, yours (because it's similar to my last build), and the guy using a 1uz and twins on his rx7 (because that's the motor I got now). Keep it up, I can't wait to see this thing someday.
