My super progress/build thread
Well I started with this.
http://i242.photobucket.com/albums/f...g?t=1287368164 http://i242.photobucket.com/albums/f...g?t=1287368164 Then I was cheap so I chopped my springs. http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-..._7592956_n.jpg She had 69,000 miles on it. Factory 5 speed. It was seriously still in mint condition. http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-..._4038382_n.jpg Then we played in the rain. http://i242.photobucket.com/albums/f...g?t=1287368451 Threw on some z wheels. http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-..._2547480_n.jpg http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-..._7511117_n.jpg Then I got a little more serious. My first drift day at Oreilly Raceway Park in Indianapolis. Then I did some things im not so proud of . . . http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-..._4387373_n.jpg Actually I was replacing a wheel bearing at my second drift day. Speedrome in Indianapolis. I drove the car to the track, 4 and a half hours, on a totally shot bearing. Picked up the parts that I ordered at the Indy Lexus, then threw them on the morning before that event. And by this time I had Stance coilovers and a welded diff. http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-..._7672007_n.jpg So then I did my thing at that event. Midwest Drift Union was holding a compitition for non caged drivers in which the winner gets a free cage. http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-..._4641745_n.jpg http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-..._4157077_n.jpg http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-...9_615993_n.jpg http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-..._1143035_n.jpg I ended up winning this comp so it was cage time for me! Then I raced at Gateway International Raceway in St. Louis. Amazing event but no time to get the cage installed yet. http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-..._4609767_n.jpg http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-..._4042208_n.jpg http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-..._2858959_n.jpg |
Then i tucked my bumper and cut out my spare tire well.
http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-..._4323418_n.jpg http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-..._6315700_n.jpg And now this is where I stand. http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-..._6942714_n.jpg http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-..._4269917_n.jpg http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-..._6506754_n.jpg http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-..._7427429_n.jpg http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-...6_165241_n.jpg No heat. No air. No radio. Not much dash. And a lot less wiring. |
so serious! you sc is going to live a harder life than most :)
I hope you are selling you black interior, those are hard to come by! Looking good, any engine work?
Nice! I like it. Good job on winning.
Really good start man, good luck!
Any idea what it weighs?
Wow, serious stuff. I like it!!!
nice set up. talk about bare necessities
Wow good job man, anything done to the engine?
You should at least put a boom-box in there...Otherwise very very cool
From a mint 68000 sc 5-speed black interior to gutted and chopped, you should have passed this one to someone who wants to baby a car and just buy a beat up one to play around with. However, I do respect someone who drives their car like it's meant to be driven, just sad to see a mint one go this route lol
^i agree completey with that. was thinking the exact same thing.
but to each his own. and it looks like the OP knows what he's doing. |
Yeah, seems like a waste of a clean SC. Always nice to see an SC being driven like it should though.
wow 70K miles and a factory 5spd
way to ruin a car :( |
