Been almost a year since I've updated so I'm gonna slap a bunch of pictures up here.
This was the first time the car was out of the garage under its own power in a long time. But it didnt last long...
The 1J had a very slight rod knock, likely from running lean while trying to tune on the SAFC
Luckily this happened late in the season anyway so I pulled the car back in the garage and got back to work. Pulled the motor and finished the engine bay.
Then I picked up an NA 2J block so I could start my 1.5JZ
The car is close to being done. Just a few small things like oil and power steering coolers. I will be ordering my EMU soon and bringing the car to Sound Performance for the tune
I just cut out the fender tubs and painted the bay to match the rest of the car. I still have to go through and eliminate a lot of wires that wont be used and relocate the fuse box.
Awesome and clean! Noticed you took out the rear spare tire well. Can you post some pics? I am also going to be doing that, just curious to see how it came out.
Ya I can get a few pics of that! My trunk area hasn't been cleaned up tho so its pretty much just cut out and nothing in its place. Ill probably just leave it open but if I get a wild hair I may change it up. Ive never had a problem passing tech with it open so i see no need to close it off lol.

Nice work man, me and my buddy just made tubs to utilize his max lock, shortened knuckles, moving the rack forward, extneded rods etc.. for his 2jzgte single turbo swap. We both decided to go 2jz, but im going na-t cause i have a NA motor with low miles. Are you going to end up using trailer tubs or just leaving them open? Whether its cut or tubbed, both setups are dope
I did the trailer tub setup on an MKIII Supra that I had but it was more of a street car. This car is rarely going to be driven on the street so I will just be leaving them open. The struggle to save weight is real lol.

That's wsup, you have a good motor for that weight haha. I'm gonna leave mine stock when I do the swap. Biggest wheels I'll run are 15s anyways lol
