The Waffes were a good pick
they are 15k up front, 10k in the rear. I set them to half an inch of preload as well.

I did some some fender rolling and some trimming to clear the wheel set up, unfortunately it was my first time using a roller and I absolutely baconed them so I will be ordering new fenders before paint now. But in better news the car is drivable with usable turning radius now!

I also installed some clear side marker lights to replace my broken ones, replaced the bumper fog lights as well because one was missing since I bought the car.

I got some spec d led tails and headlights as well, the tail light installation was a breeze and I think they look so good. Unfortunately I did not realize the headlights weren’t usable on hid equipped cars so I won’t be able to use them. If anyone wants them let me know, I can’t return them even though they are brand new.

I have some more interior work to do and some new arms coming in the mail to correct alignment soon.

Finally have some updates to post! Slowly but surely dialing in my fitment. Unfortunately it has been bitter cold in Colorado so work on it has been slow. Not only has the cold slowed me down I also picked up another 240sx More on that later.

The weather last week was in the -10’s to -20s so I was bound and determined to get my gs in the garage so I could continue to work on it. My driveway is insanely steep but I got it up and in the garage! Only bent a support bracket in the process!

I started my garage time by installing some Megan cambered roll center adjusters, they were a very tight fit on the figs lower ball joints but I got them installed pretty easily. They helped out so much, all the arms are at a much better angle now and the added camber and track width was great as well.

Before:

After:

I then got to installing some adjustable toe arms in the rear so I could finally go and get it aligned.

after eyeballing the toe I was able to get a rough measurement and figure out how much I needed to widen the rear to match the gained track width up front. I ordered some 20mm spacers for the rear and got them installed.

The 20mm spacers lined the rear tires up perfectly but the inner lip on the quarters had to go.

A couple hours with angle grinder and dremel and I had perfect fitment in the rear.

I sprayed some rattle can primer on the cut sections and when I go to paint the car I will etch prime and seam seal the area so I can hopefully avoid and rust or separation issues. I have an appointment scheduled for tomorrow so it was time to button the car up and pull it out of the garage. Unfortunately getting out of the garage wasn’t as easy as getting it in and I ate my first fender. Oh well, live and learn.

Nice work. Keep it up. Seems like you have a good attitude about the fender situation. Fitment is stellar.

Nice build, coming along fast. Haven't been on lately, but enjoyed the readthrough.

The sun came out and the snow melted finally which meant it was time to keep working on the gs!
I ordered the KBD BN style body kit, this is how it is shipped. Crazy to believe this is an entire body kit.

A few hours in the sun on a nice day and voila, a bn style kit! Still blown away by these body kits and whatever black magic they are using to accomplish this.

The kit went on great, fitment is ok, could definitely use some more work and persuasion in spots but I think it will be worlds nicer than the last kit I received.

I love the look it gives the car and it’s nice to get some kit low instead of bringing the belly closer to the ground than it already is.

Now time for paint! My favorite part. Hopefully the next update should have some good progress pics but until then here’s a little teaser

With the body work and prep all done I got it in the booth and said goodbye to the gold.
I went ahead and recleared my headlights while it was in the booth, my polishing had already started to yellow.

This is the wood stack I have to use to get my Jack out from underneath the car with the kit on. I might need to try and find a lower Jack.

I got some 8mm chrome molding tape off of Amazon which fit perfectly in the recesses of the bumper. I also tinted my fogs yellow, I think it gave it a nice contrast. Also had a photographer buddy do a photoshoot.

That’s my update for now, I got some larger exhaust tips to fill out the gaps in the bumper that I will weld on soon. When the paint is completely cured I think I will be giving the roof of the car the lowrider treatment.

Looks so good man! The BN style is one of my favorites as well.
How did you like the kit with it being polyurethane and all? Any issues getting that material to fit well or painting it? I only have experience with the good old FRP myself.
The idea of polyurethane bumpers surviving accidental contact with speed bumps, driveway entries and the like sounds really attractive.

Freaking fantastic! What process did you follow for the headlight lenses?

Something like these may help with jacking the car up

I personally love it, there are some downsides when it comes to fitment though. The pieces are so heavy they tend to sag a bit in the middle. They also don’t maintain straight lines like the real bn kit would, you can tell by how the side skirts on my car dip in by the middle of the door. But with the roads in my town this is a life saving option, I’ve driven the car like this for a week and if my kit was fiberglass it would already be broken. Painting is no issue just follow their instructions and clean clean clean. Spend more time cleaning than painting and you’ll have no issues.

Initially I wet sanded them with 1500, 3000 and then polished with rubbing compound followed by polish. It worked great for a while but started to yellow again pretty quickly. This time around I just masked them off and sanded them with 800 grit, then just hit with 2 coats of clear coat. I used the exact same clear coat I used on the body of the car. Thanks for the link, I’ll go measure and see if those work!

Default You got the fog lights to fit?!

Nice build man!! I’m basically going the same route as you are! I’ve got the KBD kit. I do agree. Fitment is def better than fiberglass, but you do have to work with it to get it looking right. Still though, it’s a life saver. Love being able to scrape without actually harming anything. How did you get those fog lights to fit though? On my kit, they fit almost perfect, but the little clip where they were screwed onto to stock bumper won’t quite fit to mount the lights. At least for me. Did you have to finesse it at all? If so, could you help a brotha out? Lol

I actually cut a small piece of wood and panel bonded it behind the little vertical support part of the bumper in between the fog light opening and large opening. Then I used a self tapper to attach the fog to the wood.

I can try and get a photo for you tonight when I get home.
