It could depend on the wheels you have. I have clear-coated painted wheels; I just use the Mother's car wash fluid during each car wash.

I just use my local store's brand - Canadian Tire Simoniz Wheel Cleaner. Pretty cheap and always does a good job cleaning up my Enkei's from all the brake dust. I might try upgrading to something more expensive later to try and see if it makes a difference. Imo it's mostly trial and error to find products that work the best for you

It's not only the cleaner, it's the water pressure you use. I like a 1400 psi pressure washer or those pressure washers at the self car wash. It gets most of the brake dust and all the dirt.

I spray the wheels with PoorBoy's wheel cleaner and then use some teflon brushes to clean them.

Hose them off and they are ready to go.

Take them off the car once a year and clean them by hand, seal them.

I use Sonax Wheel cleaner when I'm detailing the wheels and prior to coating with some sort of protectant like CarPro Reload or Hydr02. After a detail, I'll just simply use the same shampoo that I use to wash the paint.

Thanks guys. I also use Meguiar products to wash car and detail spray. Good stuff but I was wondering was a strong dirt remover. That Diablo gel I heard is from a few people works wonders

There are tons of options for good wheel wheel cleaners. A few very popular ones are Sonax Full Effect or Full Effect +, along with P21S Wheel Cleaner or Gel Wheel Cleaner.. Any of these should work great for you and be safe on any wheel material or finish.
