tree sap and paint
moved into a new apartment and i found this good parking spot that just fits one car (my car). i have been parking there for 6 days and found this coming out today
it looks like tree sap and feels like tree sap (gluish sticky feel to it). is it bad for the paint?
should i just park in the street (parallel park) rather than parking in this lone spot? reason is i dont want people swiping me and hit and run

You should give your Lexus a nice coat of synthetic wax, it will make cleaning it so much easier. Have you considered a car cover?

I'd just park on the street tbh, too big of a hassle and it's not good for the paint. As for a car cover, I'd be really careful as putting and takin it off wil most likely put swirl marks in the paint, unless the car is clean.

Bird excrement is acidic and will do far more damage to the paint than tree resin (sap)
With the parking space your using I'd say you're a prime canditate for a quality car cover. As with most things their is a correct methodology for placing and removing a car cover. Google “Vehicle Weather Protection Covers” and“Environmental Damage” Autopia

anyone know how to get it off without washing the car? Or should I just proceed and wash the car again

You could use a quick detailer (just remember to not wipe the crap - but try to lift it out using a MF towel after soaking the crap in QD and letting it sit for a little while - just as you would do while washing)

Apply with a long nap micro fibre towel using very little surface pressure, dusting with long strokes in one direction only. For stubborn stains, soak the micro fibre towel and allow it to remain in n place for a few minutes and then wipe away the debris.
