Finally did my headlights (2GS)
I've been ignoring my headlights for some time now. I already have the Meguiars G1900K headlight restoration kit but I never got a chance to use it. My grandfather just got the Fast Brite lens restore kit for his S500 and he oddly wanted me to try it out on my car. I said okay if this doesn't do a good job I'll just use my kit to finish the job. It surprisingly cleaned my lights very well. He got the kit for like 10 bucks that he saw in a infomercial on TV lol.

Here the kit itself, the pad got a bit discolored after I rinsed it off. I was surprised how dirty my lights were
I noticed that they still look a bit hazy in the pictures but they look a lot better. I should have took a pic last night so I could compare the visibility but I'm sure its a lot better now. I know my kit probably would've done a better job but that's damn good for 10 bucks.

Thanks. All it needs now is a good detailing and she'll be back to showroom condition. But with all this rain don here in Miami I don't know when I'll be able to do that.

Thanks for the tips, the next time my lights fog up I'm using my Meguiars kit with the 1500 and 2000 grit. IronX is the next thing Im gonna buy for my car.

Yes sir,
But on a car that already cost $40k-55k+ it wouldn't have made a big difference.
Think of the 97+ SC300/400. Lexus put glass high beams on those models. I can tell you that the glass will not fade or yellow ever. I just haven't seen any examples of even 20+ year old cars that show any signs of aging. Toyota Supra Euro headlights are also glass and won't yellow. The point is, glass lights is not something only used on 200k+ Bentley's, it could very easily be included in ordinary luxury cars, but cost cutting doesn't allow companies to do it sometimes to stay competitive in price.
Plastic is okay, but once that uv coating starts going, it's all downhill from there. You could be polishing out the yellowing every month to keep them clean. Only other option is to reapply the coating and properly cure it after a wetsand, but most people don't have the knowledge or access to the tools/products needed to do the job properly, hence 95%+ of the population will resort to the buff and wax method.
