if you mean the interior was detailed and the product(s) used left a glossy finish and you prefer a matte finish (flat), i would take a microfiber towel and wipe the areas down to remove some of the product on there. if that doesnt work, you can purchase mequiars interior quik detailer and it will help remove what was used and leave a nice matte finish in the process. this is one of my go to products every time i start an interior detail

Optimum Power Clean, should do the job your looking to do. Remember to dilute Potimum Power Clean up to 3:1 to safely clean your leather, vinyl, paint, and plastics. Also to remove old dash dressings and tough residues from interior panels. Wipe away spills and spots from leather seats. Special polymers and emulsifiers break down contaminants with minimal agitation.

The P21S Total Auto Wash is a good choice for interior cleanings like this. It's a citrus based cleaner that is safe to use and won't dry out the vinyl, plastic, etc. It will remove the greasy dressing so it looks natural again.

For a non-greasy interior dressing try the Einszett 1Z Cockpit Premium. It looks awesome but without the gloss or grease.

Don't use these harsh chemicals, sounds like they used an armour all type protectant. If you want to remove it, use dawn dish soap with warm water like you would wash dishes. Use a clean white rag. This will remove the grease without stinking up the interior of your car with harsh chemicals. There is NEVER a need for harsh chemicals inside your car. Dawn and warm water will yield the BEST results over chemicals. It may take just a little more elbow grease, but you will be a lot happier in the long run.

Trust me, save your money on these expensive chemicals that are not needed.

I'm looking for a matte finish on my black interior -- not "low-gloss" -- on my seats and dash. Is Dawn fine to take off the gloss or will I take dye with it? Then what about a good matte-finish protectant like Mothers Reflections Leather Care?

Car is a 1998 GS400, black interior.
