Default Wait, So is there a sure fire way to prevent blue jeans from bleeding onto the seats?

Ordered an 2011 RX, with black interior, but am second guessing my decision. I love how the RX450h gets a two tone gray and black interior versus the gray interior of the gas model.

But I wear jeans every day. My current RX is black and I feel like I might want a change of scenery. My RX300 has the beige interior and while I didnt notice the blue bleeding onto it, the creases in the leather started to become black with lines.

Dont know what to do, but I dont want to be stuck with an ugly interior a year from now. So any suggestions? or should i just stick with black which hides everything

All you can do is use a protectant and hope for the best. Then again the blue should come off with woolite+water mixture so I wouldn't be too worried about it

RXSF, stick with black. I'm sure you've seen how dirty the lighter interior gets. All it took was a demo with the ivory interior for me. Seats were getting discolored with scuff marks around the glove compartment. Black is very forgiving

there is just something about that two tone interior that makes me melt.

okay okay, black it is. I know with my habbits of wearing jeans, and not cleaning the seats regularly, I will regret the decision.

wash your jeans in vinegar, it prevents the dye from bleeding as much.

^^ Ive heard that too, dont know how much I believe that though. Either way, its a real shame that jeans bleed. I love the disclaimer stickers on them too.

RXSF, I feel your pain. The two tone interior looks cool. I thought about going gray myself but I had to think about winter and clothes doing a number on the interior On the upside black on black is hot. I saw a '10 350 with that combo and wanted to drool.

you can always slap on some seat covers. but i guess it would defeat the purpose of having leather seats.

Or you could just lay a towel on your seat and sit on that. Again might be lame but its not as permanent as a seat cover. Goodluck

There is no sure fire way..
The wife have few pairs of Jeans and they are always kind of new and
her car has freaking off white leather, love the style but
I have to clean it with Lexus cleaner and Meguires at least once a week, the meguires is like a Wax for the leather, prevents staining somewhat.

i always washed my jeans in vinegar when i first get them, they don't seem to bleed, since my jeans don't fade in colour.
