Unhappy So Embarrassed.......

Ok I have to admit I'm so incredibly embarrassed by behavior this weekend. I threw up pretty violently while riding in my old SC300 (thank goodness not in my new SC430). I don't really drink much any more but my best friend in the world just got married. I was the best man and well I forgot we weren't back in college. Luckily my incredibly beautiful/smart/loving/amazing (just in case she reads this ) wife wiped down most of the car while I proceeded to curl into the fetal position and black out. The next day after many many Gatorades and slices of toast I went and cleaned out the car as best as I could. I used a leather cream on all the seats, cleaned the glass, tried to get all the nooks and crannies, and febreeze the heck out of the seatbelt and carpets. Luckily most of it went outside any tips for getting the very minor smell for the first 5 seconds of being in the car? That and anyone know a good detail shop in Austin or San Antonio

Great first post lol.

If a car has a smell, I typically steam the carpets followed by a hot water extraction (or shampoo) After it dries, spray a deodorizer and you should be set. Check out scottwax as I know he is in texas just not sure where.

+1...some Meguiar's Odor Eliminator might help as well.

TexaSC300, please take notes from the responses here using your 'normal' account. We only allow one member account per person as in our forum terms of service.

I had a similar situation (although it was someone else doing the vomiting after a couple bottles of wine) and despite all my cleaning the smell lingered for a couple of weeks. Keep doing the Febreeze and make sure to fully pull out the seatbelt and do the entire thing and open the windows up to let it air out when possible.

It might make sense to plan ahead for the next couple of weeks and run outside to open the car up a couple of minutes before your wife gets in.

I would suggest wiping down or spraying down any "affected" areas with the Chemical Guys Extreme Offensive Odor Eliminator - Concentrated. It helps break down the cause of the odor and leaves behind a fresh and pleasant smell. If you have any questions please let me know.
