Glad I'm not the only one. My original one (purchased 3 years ago) was leaving lots of marks. So I recently bought a new one...same streaks.

So I just got a california duster. It's airing out on newspaper right now.

I read that a lot of you said you can't use it after your car is wet because the dust gets caked on or something. I park my car outside and in the morning there is a lot of dew on the car. Does that mean I can't really use the duster much? Only on the same day I wash it?

I have a major pollen problem here in central california with all the agriculture and all, and it works good for the coating of pollen I get, the only issue I have is the whole streaking thing of the wax. I broke it in like the instructions said, but I still get the streaks 7 months later. Thats why I finally baught a car cover.

I've got a black SC400 and it really helps to use the duster in the morning.

Making a pass over the car every morning helps to keep the car much, much cleaner and
requires less frequent car washes.

Yes, mine leaves a film/streak when the car is warm and dusted.

well found my old duster the other day, well my friend did. He used it on his black saab n it cleaned it up perfectly w/o streaks but he was stupid the day before because he drove right after shining his tires so the crap was all over the side of the car. We decided to wash it and be done with it.

My other friend that same day whipped out his duster after a bunch of green polin(sp?) falling on his black A6 in the 24 hours since we had washed it, it cleaned it off beautifully. Im glad they found my duster though....i had no idea where it was in my garage. Time to use it on the LX in the morning!

Sometimes the duster cant get all the crap off but it always makes it look alot better then having all the dust on the car. I use my small duster in my room on my desk/model cars.

In my opinion, I think its great for its purpose, just a duster. All it mainly does is dust away the top layer of dust. Some people are against Quick Detailing because it can do more harm then good. Some say that you can scrub the dirt against the surface and do more damage then benefit. But with this duster, you can remove that top layer and leave the rest for Quick Detailer.

I've heard recommendations on the OXO Duster as well, they'd probably perform the same.

What i noticed was when I put my duster on the newspaper for a few days, probably at least 5, you can actually see the newspaper oiled up from the duster. I shook it a few times, used it on my car in the morning when the paint is nice and cold. No streaks for me!

This will micro-marr the finish. Best saving some money and buying a reguler plush towel from PakShak which is much softer and more effective from a cleaning standpoint.

I use mine for light dusting each day. No scrathes, no film, no streaks. For dust only, not for dirt. Works great for what it was intended for.
