2007 Black Subaru WRX
Customer came out from NY to have his wrx taken care of. This had a crazy amount of swirls from the local automatic car wash. Otherwise, overall, wasnt too bad. Typical road grime and dirt from being a daily driver. This took a little longer than I had originally planned, but the end results made it worth it. It actually wasnt even scheduled as a full correction, but b/c of the softness of suby paint, it came damn close to a full correction job. gotta say though, I absolutely love CG 5050 on black. This is the 4th or 5th black car in a row that I've finished off w/ 5050 and wouldnt have changed it a bit on any one of them. Anyway, some info and pics.........

Clay. I chose a lighter cut clay to reduce any marring since subaru paint is very soft.

Looks great. I have a 2006 WRX Wagon in that same color and it has the same swirls as that one, maybe even worse. I did about 3-4 passes on the entire hood and it does not look like I even made a dent in those swirls. How many passes did you have to make on this one?
I was using Optimum Compound and Polish with my UDM. All purchased from GlimmerGlass of course .

What speed and pad combos were you using?

hmmm, thats the right combos. any before/after pics? Maybe work them in a little longer? Make sure youre not moving the machine too fast either. You can use speed 6 for OC, but I cant see that having made a significantly measurable difference in your outcome. It may just take a little refining, b/c I'm sure that combo should work. Unless you have a freak suby that has unusually hard paint, but all the ones I've ever worked on were corrected rather easily imo.

wow nice pics chris. I'm ready to bring my car in now. i had the paint drips corrected from the body shop that did my body work after my accident a year ago.
the only problem is that they ****ed up my paint when they washed my car and it's extremely swirly everywhere. they even scratched one of my rims.
