Default Properly remove vinyl headlight covers?

Would it be okay to heat these up to remove them?

They really look aged and I believe they are diminishing my light output.

If I were to heat to remove, how should I clean the headlights of the adhesive without destroying the clarity of the glass/plastic?

They are on my foglights too.

heat it up with likea blow drier then start picking/peeling it away. The left over residue can be cleaned up with some googone.

Why remove them at all? Isn't the wear is on the surface and not on the inside? I'd try taping off the paint and polish them via PC or rotary.

wouldn't googone cause it to haze?

The cover is not solid at all. It is like a soft rubber. You can make an impression with your nail if you tried.

I don't see polishing them up as an option.

Thanks for the replies

1)Heat up with heat gun or blow dryer and peel off.

2)Use Bug & Tar or GooGone to remove leftover residue

3)If you see a "haze" use Meguiars Plastx or a Finishing Polish with some elbow grease to clean it up a bit.
