Default Static charge after waxing

I have waxed my new LX570 two weekends in a row with Meguires Gold Class. Seems like untill the vehicle is washed a powerful static charge sucks dust from miles away!

Anything to prevent this?

The gold class wax tends to do that.

I use Finish Kare 425 quick detailer after I wax. It has anti-static properties and it reduces my dust buildup. Not to mention it looks really glossy for me.

What I usually do after this happens, which is a lot, is I take a magnet attached to a negative and positive wire at both ends, and tape it to the car's body. This way, all of the static electricity is discharged to the magnet =]

Could you post a picture of the magnet setup attach to the car?

Thanks,

I'll second the vote for use of the FK1 425 QD. No way to totally prevent dust but it does seem to reduce the dust magnet that wax seems to be. Also going with a polymer sealant such as FK1 2180, which has anti-static properties, instead of wax may be helpful.
