? about using blue painters tape
I recently had my front end repainted and have to wait 2 weeks to get the clear bra put on. So I am going to try to do everything in my power not to get a single rock chip on my car. When I drove the car home, the body shop helped me put the blue painters tape over the whole front end, which worked great, and came off easy with no residue. I have one of those front end bras, the ugly black things that keep bugs and rocks from ruining your front end, my question is I want to put the blue tape around the edges where the bra will rub against the paint, and also to protect the areas that arent covered by the bra since I have a custom lip kit. Will it damage the paint if I leave the blue painters tape on for say a week at a time? I would take it off to wash the car after a week, and then reinstall everything for the final week. I know blue painters tape is not supposed to leave adhesive behind, and it didnt when I removed it after getting home, but it was only on the car for about an hour. Thanks for any advice you can help me with

The tape likely won't even stay stuck on for a week...although it might since you just had it repainted which means there is no wax on those areas. If you leave the car in the sun or drive it in the rain the tape will come off almost immediately. If it stays on for a week, thats ok. It should still come off very easily with no residue. If there is any residue, it will be so light that when you wash the car it will all be removed anyway.

Thanks for the info. I may just keep this on for a few days and take it off and see how it does, I am taking it in for the clear bra on the 12th, so its only about 9 days away. I have to take it to the bodyshop first because they want to do a final polish/wax of the painted areas. If they apply wax will that affect the adhesion of the clear bra?
