Dust/Pollen on Obsidian
When spring gets here and brings the pollen with it, what is the best way to remove it from a black car between washes? I'm afraid that one of those California dusters will leave a chemical residue on the dark paint. Can I use a micro-fiber duster without the chemicals or should I just rinse it off and use mf towels to dry it? The latter seems to be a pain so any advice would be appreciated.

Hit the touchless car wash in your area and blast that sucker with a rinse every other day. Then finish up with the spot free rinse. That will keep the finish tidy until it's time to hand wash. You don't want to be using a duster with pollen on the finish.

I never had any success with the CA dusters. They always left small specks of paraffin on the surface that would smear. I've tried washing them, wrapping them in newspaper, you name it, and they still would drop wax specs. I've got a couple that have been repeatedly wrapped in newspaper for years and they still drop wax.
I now use a couple of microfiber towels and a mist-on detailer (Meg's Final Inspection or Speed Detailer) to remove pollen and dust.
