Default Paint questions!

I was wondering how much an onyx black paint job for an is300 would cost at the dealership...also how the dealership paint job compares to other paint jobs.

I can't comment on the exact cost, since every individual car at the same shop and at different shops will vary by nature, depending on what else (dings, dents, paint flaking, extra spoilers etc.) might need to be done. The extras add considerably to the cost,
Generally all paint jobs of "decent" quality will fall into the $2000 to $4000 range.

The quality will be good, because a dealership has to meet certain OEM guidelines and standards, and Lexus dealerships have a pretty high bar to pass since they have to duplicate a quality factory paint job.

Unless someone else has had their IS painted at a dealer( and even THAT cost will vary by geographic location), this is the best you can go on generally.

Of course, you can go to your nearest dealership and get a quote, and actually SEE the paintwork they do. That's your best option really.

Good luck!

It depends on what you want. You can get a quick job that fits your budget for under 2000. You can do work on your own car and pay a little less. You can rent the booth up here and do it yourself. You can also pay five figures. The guy that painted my SS charged 6500 for the last one he did. It all depends on the quality of the job.
