How do they differ from regular tints?

I'm getting llumar which, my installer said was neither. I thought if it wasn't ceramic or metallic, that it would turn purple. He said the llumar won't, and has a lifetime warranty.

Is there a noticeable difference in look between ceramic, metallic, or regular?

Check out this website: http://www.cpfilms.com/ They own LLumar films, Formula One and a few others. Lots of good info in the spec's area.
From MY experience dyed films will being to turn purple at some point in there life. Living here in Southern Nevada that could be 5 years or 10 years or longer it depends on many variables like if you park outside, unders shade or in a garage. Also if you clean with windex or just water. Don't go cheap if your keeping the vehicle for a long time (4 or more years)
Good Luck with your choice

I had llumar film on my last vehicle and it held up great for all 8 years that I owned it. No fading, peeling, color changing, or any other nonsense. This was in the desert too where the average summer daytime temp is 100+ degrees F.

Ceramic tints are supposed to be pretty darn good. Don't get the metallic ones though, it messes with navigation and/or radio.
