Default Ghost Emblems....do you have them?

I wanted to shave off the LEXUS and LX470 emblems but oh well...

So i knew this was going to happen since my hood and roof got all faded out too but i tried it anyways. I rodered a lexus emblem to stick back on after i tried this. Anways i just went downstairs to try it and yeah, my paint sucks donkey *****....but i have ghost emblems now and you dont! HA!

ok well actually i put the lexus back on there but still, lexus smokey topaz paint sucked.....i guess thats why they stopped making this color? I think it looks like it has something to do with the clearcoat. Any ideas?

my whole truck is faded out like that...its horrible but its not noticeable unless i park it next to a mint LX470 in the same color, so annoying though because I know its there. I had a few bodyshops look at it and they all said the car needs to be repainted, refinishing(buffing and the like) wont help it.

ya you can try it on the roof, see if it clears up and if it does well i think you might just have yourself some spending money for the SC.

Ouch....sorry.

This has been the reason why I shave the emblems on all my cars almost immediately after getting them. Saves the headache of paying for new emblems when they fade and what it does to the paint under them. Saying that, I've been putting off having the holes filled but this reminds me that I better have this taken care of.

Default Why not just detail the car?

Since your paint is faded, shouldn't you be able to remove the ghosting by buffing it out? Unless it's clearcoated and the paint under the cc is compromised, you should be ok.

the bodyshop had said it was the paint UNDER the CC and there was nothing short of repainting it that could fix it.
