Ceramic Coating?
I was reading one of the local Japanese mags and there is a shop located in Gardena offer ceramic coating and detail for $300. What exactly is Ceramic Coating? Anyone?
Are you sure you're not possibly confusing 2 separate services of that shop? They may do detailing but also provide ceramic coatings for headers, intercooler tubes etc. as here; http://www.customclassictrucks.com/t...137_0312_cerm/
The only kind of ceramic coating I know of is that type used on engine and exhaust parts. I did a search on the web and also cannot find any reference to wax applied ceramic coatings.
You could always call the place if you have a # and ask what's up, but I think it's either;
A; catchy name for a wax or polish that has no relation in chemical nature to ceramic,
or
B; it's the formerly mentioned high- heat ceramic coating for engine/exhaust parts, offered as another service.
Mercedes uses a nano-tech ceramic paint on their new cars, but that's also something completey different than what you're alluding to.

I am pretty sure. I will re-visit the mag and take the picture of it. And I will call to find out also. Its a Japanese shop and I thought they must came up with some nice way to detail your car because the picture they showed (black 350Z) looks awesome clean. Thanks for looking into it.
