Default Dying Carpet

When I bought my SC, the interior was pure mess, now I want to make my carpet black. Who knows how to dye their carpets?? Or anyone know a site on how-to? Thanks

Here you go:
http://www.acura-legend.com/vbulleti...t=dying+carpet

These are my instructions...

You need the following:

8 - 10 packs of RIT Dye in the color you want (Black, brown, red, etc)
Water
Large Spray Bottle
Norton's Salt (not Lawry's )
Carpet
Vacuum
Hard Nylon brush

step 1 - clean carpet THOROUGHLY
step 2 - clean it again (vacuum, brush clean)
step 3 - vacuum again (no dirt, no pebbles, no bubble gum, no sand...I think you get the point)
step 4 - remove carpet from car, shake to ensure all loose particles gone
step 5 - mix the RIT dye, the salt and water in the large bottle according to the mix instructions (ENSURE you do not have any plastics that you care about nearby, they will become dyed. Therefore, this procedure DICTATES that the carpet MUST be removed from the car)
step 6 - shake it baby shake it
step 7 - start in one area of the carpet with spray. Recommend spray the passenger side evenly, brush, spray, brush, spray, ensuring ALL fibers are black or whatever color you choose
step 8 - do the driver side, repeating above steps
step 9 - do rear
step 10 - allow to dry in a hot/warm dry climate
step 11 - repeat steps 6 - 9 to ensure that desired color is attained.
step 12 - allow to dry for at least 7 days
step 13 - vacuum
step 14 - scotchgard
step 15 - reinstall and enjoy

Worked on mine. 2 years later still black

Nice thread.. I just bought some black parts (glove box, center bezel and center console) in an attempt to have a black and gray interior. I purchased some new black sc mats but the gray carpet would look better black.
Question? How much to buy a new black carpet and where would i get it from?
